Come on you know us musicians care so much about our instruments(maybe more than our partners.....dont worry i wont tell) that we gave them names.

Mine's a seagull acoustic named Sincerity. I love my didge and harmonica to but they're not as personal :S

funny, i have never named an instrument. and i have many.
maybe i'm just bad with names...
of course my instruments are very close, personal things,
and yet i don't feel like they need names.

Haha, I am going to name my instruments this very moment, my Gibson SG will be Axeious, my Squier will be Squee (after the goofy magic card). And my saxohophone will be Reedor.

I have named all my axes:

    -Strat #1-
    -Strat #2-
    -Strat #3-
    -Strat #4-
    -Fatty Strat-
-The POS (old gibson prototype charvelle that isn't really a pos but looks like shit)

Sorry, not very original, but I can't disrespect my guitars by naming them with female names. No female I know is of the same calibur as any musical instrument I own.

I sincerely doubt anyone will post saying they have named an instrument that is not a guitar.

I'll be willing to buy a drink for anyone who chooses to bet against me on this by replying in this thread before anyone should do so.

And even if I'm wrong, it'll still be a stringed instrument of some kind, I'm sure.

(n.b. I'm not counting that previous post with names that are just invented nicknames/shortened names which could theoretically be used generically to describe any instrument of their kind).

I think sax machine is mostly right,
I have named my acoustic alison
but I refuse to name anyof my other intruments like my main thing my drumset, though I do refer to it as being female.

The guitar I'm making (Reminds me, I think I have enough money for the parts today, gonna have to check the bank) is the only one I've named, even though it doesn't exist yet. "Avon Lee".

The name comes from a couple of dreams I had quite a long time ago, where I stepped into a pawnbrokers or woodworking shop and found a guitar there. The guitar in the dream was a Vox teardrop shape, but had a Fender decal on the headstock and the name "Avon Lee" next to it. Strangely enough, the guitar I'm planning looks nothing like a Vox, but it's based on an old Fender idea (see my gallery for a pic). So Avon Lee it is.

My Black Fender (my first electric guitar) is called Black Widdow or Widz (its a combination of a srtat, telecaster and has tripple hummbucker pickups from an old classic fender....if that means anything to anyone *shrug*)

and my accoustic is called Moon.... cos Moonie bought it for me :)

I had a guitar called LOLA. that's the name of a woman who gave it to me. She used to play when she was younger. I gave that guitar to someone else.

i have no names for my instruments, i only refer to them from the brand name e.g: "The Ibanez"
Though if iam to refer to it in some other way it would be a female.

My 12-string's called Eugene (after Careful With That Axe, Eugene by Pink Floyd) and I also have a penny whistle named Percy and a Mandy Mandolin. I've got lots of other instruments too, but they don't have names.
