I have a friend who suffers from severe panic attacks and depression. The poor guy cant even leave his house without having and episode, so he is scared to leave. He used to be an adventurous and fun loving guy, and this is sucking the life out of him. I want to do all I can to help him, but I dont know where to start. His doctors keep pumping him full of meds and making him numb. He doesnt want to depend on a drug to make him happy again, and I dont blame him. I was just wondering if anyone else has went threw this, and what it is we can do to fix it? Are there natural cures, healers, or anything that can help him?? I would love any input I can get on this. Thanks so much!
    Peace and Love

Try a psychologist that can help him deal with what is causing the anxiety. Meds just cover things up. There are lots of therapist that deal with just this type of thing.

no offense, but sometimes meds can help quite a lot. i used to be completely paralyzed about going out due to anxiety and such. i found that clonazepam helped considerably! it totally helped lessen the attacks over time and i found myself being able to get out of the house. it had gotten to the point i couldnt' even go check the mail in the foyer from my apartment without having a severe panic attack.

yoga can help you relax your mind as well. i used to use yoga and meditation to get me through a lot of things. but ultimately what got me out and back into the world was the right combination of meds. but ONLY and i can't stress ONLY enough get a PSYCHIATRIST not just a general medical doctor to prescribe mental health drugs as doctors, even if they have the best of intentions, just do not know how to treat mental health effectively.

Agoraphobia, sounds like what your friend is dealing with.

Had a family friend who suffered with this for 50 plus years, until she couldn't leave a small room that she chose to live in.
Her husband lived his life around her phobias, he was retired and played golf several times a week and visited with friends, while his wife sat in her little room with the windows painted over.
Help your friend get some help and get out into the real world.....

Maybe you should google "Bio Feedback" Its a type of sound thearapy i believe. It came highly reccomended to me before I got a Rx that did wonders-but if your into natural healing that might work for your friend.

Many physical things can cause depression, like lack of sunlight, exercise or a B vitamin. These are needed by everyone. Anxiety is connected to depression. The more depression or anxiety a person has, the less happy he will be. But anxiety can be helped by practising things that are relaxing like yoga or meditaiton or Tai Chi. See this site for Natural Help for Anxiety.
