Hi Guys, I'm looking to find out what were in the 1960's & 70's the best authentic branded Hippie jeans worn by both men & women???... I have been searching through eBay's vast collection of Vintage Wranglers, Levis, Britannia etc but can't decide. Can anyone give me an insight into which jeans would give me the most authentic look for the time???...

    Any comments would be appreciated...

    Kind Regards.

from what I remember of my childhood: patched and cheap. Usually faded (I remember a product called soft n fade) and tight in the thigh.

    brand was no matter.

Yeah, cheap, patched, and embroidered! We used to wear them so long we walked the backs off of them. My mom ruined several pairs of jeans for me by attempting to hem them. The hems would reach my ankles, and I'd never wear those "high waters" jeans in public again!

My mom had to hem deep, and as I grew, she'd let them out and cover the faded stripe on what was the bottom with trim and the evil-to-be-feared ric-rac.
