Ok, I just watched this movie for the first time on DVD. I liked the movie. But here is my dilemma.

I watched the movie and then on the DVD it has a Theatrical version, which has a whole different ending, a much better ending.

My question is this, who saw it in the movie theatre and what was the ending. Was it the one where he goes back to birth or the one where he isnt friends with Kaylee??

I just watched it last night as a matter of fact, and I had no idea it had two different endings...I watched the directors cut and it had the ending where he killed himself before he was born.

Hmmm...Now I'm going to have to watch it again.

Ya it was sad when he went back to birth and killed himself. I like the theatrical version's ending much better.

There are actually a few more endings if you go into the "infinite" menus.

Theatrical version is the movie version. Which can be considered the "official" one.

Director's cut is the choice of the director.

If you listen to the audio commentary, they explain whys and hows. I'll tell you what is though in short. They screened the movie and New Line said "you want your movie to make bucks so, we have to put a Holywood ending on it". They did that but with dvd, they also offered you the Director's real vision - hence, it's called the director's cut.

There's a lot of movies like that now. Director's cuts but also alternate endings. Fer instance - Unfaithful, Natural Born Killers, ect...

Thank you Friend for explaining that. I guess I should have watched the commentary.
