First of all, I became obsessed with Yoko as her own conceptual artist. With or without the Beatles, she was still bloody brilliant. She was so avant-garde that he work could have made the critic's hate her, which they did, which is what I admired about her. She was/is so a strong individual. And a strong woman is what this world needs! No, I don't think she broke the Beatles up. I think Paul McCartney did. He was too proud. Modern version of Pride & Prejudice, don't you think? And I couldn't think of a better anti-war, pro-peace couple than John & Yoko. She was the best thing that ever happened to him.

She's not much of a singer, though.

She's got a terrible, screeching voice.

John loved Yoko. Yoko loved John. A true fan of John would respect this, no matter how much they hate Yoko. A truly GOOD PERSON would respect this, because its love and should not be degraded.

I dont think Yoko had a bad voice...Just listen to her sing in this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWqc1WSibqs

In my opinion, she sounds fine. I think she screeched and screamed in some songs on purpose. As Hippy I Am said, she was a great experimental artist.

Anyway...I think its really arrogant to say that Yoko ruined The Beatles. I dont know, it just seems really snobbish.

John was the house-husband...it was what he loved. She was the business person and the dominant power, but they were a partnership. They understood and loved eachother...their relationship worked.

So what if it wasn't a nuclear family, so what if their family didn't mirror what you consider normal or right? They loved. That's all that mattered. He accepted her.

I suggest you guys read Nowhere Man by Robert Rosen. Best book ever.

They did heroin every now and then...Yoko did it a lot more than John. Whatever.
The Beatles broke up because John and Paul couldn't work together...among other things.
They were deeply deeply in love. I wish I had as much love as John had for Yoko.
They had rocky times just like everybody else...think "Isolation." But their rocky times were still full of love and respect for one another.
Yoko didn't keep Julian away from his father...the only reason he didn't get more money is because before John died Julian was spending the cash his father sent him on drugs and drink and partying...it was a tough relationship, mostly because John didn't make an effort earlier in Julian's childhood.

John & Yoko were the staple of true love. I saw Anthology, as well. Paul McCartney was a huge douche. I love Yoko for who she is. And the fact that a huge part of her life consisted of John Lennon, it's what makes it beautiful.

Oh and as far as her screeching goes - watch the Live in New York video, I think it was like '74 or something. But she sings "Born In A Prison". I couldn't listen to it. I had to mute the television. It was horrible. That, and "O Sister". It's just terrible. She's not much of a singer, but everything else she did was amazing, for lack of a better word.

she's a wonderful human being. she was john's counterpart. mccartney was and will always remain a fuckin wanker.

READ: Lennon Remembers by Jann S. Wenner
A compilation of interviews conducted by jann (cofounder of rolling stone mag) with john and yoko. truly inspiring and might shed some light on the beatles as a band, for those who believe they were "indestructible".

im a huge beatles fan especially johns, and i didnt like her music or the fact she wouldent let john really communicate with the others. but i understand why john was with her and im not mad at her the beatles would have broke up anyway, george was sick of only gettin 2 songs an lp, and really mccartney broke them up flippin out on all of them.
i dont like yoko but if i was john i would have done the same thing,
p.s. asians are hott, but not yoko

I like her. Lennon loved her, for one thing. True, their relationship contributed to the demise of The Beatles, but Lennon knew this would happen and he pursued it anyway. She was a brilliant artist, who pushed Lennon when few people could. And, as the poll says, she did a lot for peace, etc. I do see why she rubs some people the wrong way. She is a weird one.

I don't like people just because others like them - i would be more open etc but not enough to make me like them. If John Lennon loved her and she him then good for them but for me i really couldn't care less.

Personally i don't really like Yoko Ono but i have never met her (nor do i want to) so i can't be sure. Reason being the fact she continues to use John Lennon to get fame and people to notice her. I like that she is a strong and independent person but of what i have heard of her choices and what happened to Julian Lennon i don't really trust much she says. She doesn't come across like a caring/not selfish person.

I don't believe Paul McCartneys a douche or that he split up the Beatles. Every good thing ends so it was enivitable - whose fault it was shouldn't matter you'd only be blaming someone else later on.

Maybe you could say she was too strong - strong in itself is fine but theres a line you cross and then you're bitchy and stubborn or just plain uncaring and selfish.

i happen to think she was very creative when teamed up with lennon. i have a lot of respect for her, i think she's someone i can look up to. she did a lot with lennon to push the power of peace, and no matter what, anyone who does that is fantastic in my book.
    i like her.
