here's a little tale to warm your heart...... i arrived in barnstable in my knackered old van, with less than quarter of a tank of fuel, no money and no where to stay. i had a really cool party on the beach, and then a knight in shining armour, who goes by the name of adam decided he would look after me. he let me stay at his house and spent all day today driving me around to find me a job and now i have one. i am no longer hungry and soon will no longer be broke, so if you're reading this adam, (which i suspect you might be) i just want to say thanks alot! peace and love stardust xxx
You're a bigger nob. But yeah, it's great to meet kind strangers. I had a panic attack and got really dehydrated on Croyde beach on Sunday and people on the train back were giving me their water and coke bottles and asking how I was. Most people are really nice. PS. It was nice to meet you properly Stardust.
YAY! Some strangers are indeed kind...but if you listen you the Nick Cave song 'The Kindness Of Strangers' you will realise that not all can be trusted
doesn't it just warm you to your very depths when that happens? even just a knowing smile, it links us all. we need more of it....... aw i miss that part of the country already, did you all meet up with maisie? namaste x x x
I have a story. Hurricane Frances forced many people out of their homes this past weekend. One of these families decided to go north to Tennessee for a vacation. I know this because the mother of that family came to the museum I work at. She told me how they had to leave their home and how she didn't care about the material possessions she had probably lost. All she cared about was her family. I gave her family complimentary tickets to walk around the gardens a bit because I thought it was a nice thing to do. I also told her about some great attractions in Gatlinburg,Tennessee that she could take her family to. All in all, I would say that southern hospitality does exist where I live and I am just glad to contribute to a southern tradition.
