Recently, I had a brief flashback about something my sister once told me. She mentioned that when my mother was young, maybe in her early 20's or so, she visited a psychic and that it was an extremely traumatic experience. (o_O) I guess that the psychic told her things that were pretty unbelievable.

My mom has never talked to me about it, and I guess I'm slightly afraid to ask. :stunned: I guess that if she wanted to tell me, she would.

Anyway, I just thought I'd ask if any of you have had any crazy/unexplainable psychic readings. I know that many people think it's all hogwash (and of course TV psychics and such actually are), but I haven't completely made up my mind on the subject. For my mother to have been that affected by the reading makes me wonder.

So... do you have any stories?

Never had one myself, but John Edward (Not the former Senator) is a TV physic but has also written several books on the subject. He has me convinced that he's the real deal.

I don't know... I don't believe that guy. And his stuff would be easier to fake than predicting the future and having those events come to pass. But I certainly haven't read any of his books or anything, so maybe I'm not getting the full picture.

I believe there are FAR more frauds than legit psychics, obviously.

But I have had some crazy experiences with psychics in the past.

I live about 5 mins from Lilydale and Cassadaga in western NY. If you are unfamiliar with these places- they are huge spiritualist/psychic communities.

Upon my many visits- I met an amazing woman who was unbelieveably in-tune with her peers and surroundings. Her name is Alexis, and over the course of my 10+ visits I have learned more from this woman than perhaps any other person in my life. We've become very close- and I still visit her often, and we speak over the phone on occasion too.

She has predicted several events in my life- seeing my mother and two closest friends, whom I have not seen in 6 years, since I moved here from Arizona. I was involved in a serious car accident that put me in the hospital for a while.

While I was in the hospital bed, Alexis came to wish me the best- I told her to stick around and chat a while, but she told me; "I'd love to, but there are people who need to see you now much more than I do right now. I have to go," and with that, she left. I went to sleep that night pondering her words- and at 11PM, my mother, and my two best friends from Arizona showed up at my room.

Now, you could say- "Well, she just looked up their flight information and knew they were coming in," but you dont know her. This is just one of many isntances- but let me just say she has "proven" herself time and time again.

Shes told me of other events in my life that would come, and often speaks in these sort of cryptic sentences and when I probe her to elaborate, she often tells me; "Be patient- the universe will have its way." Sure enough, the things that she spoke of would always occur, somewhere down the line.

Shes taught me a lot about life and death. From her, I have learned to quit being so concerned about what is going to happen- and that life is a gigantic mystery- to which she has clues- but should I really cheat? Shes told me on several occasions; "Sometimes, death just means change" A phrase to which I've now discovered the meaning.

She is a truly amazing woman. Without her, I would be so lost right now.

So, finally, I'll get back to your question- yes, I believe psychics exist- you just have to know where to look ;)

my mother went to a psychic who told her that she would marry the third man she dated, and that was my father. she told her a bunch of other things, but i'd rather not elaborate. she was dead-on accurate on every thing.

^ Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. That sounds very similar to what I believe my mother's experience was like. Weird stuff.

I married a psychic, but I didn't believe it for the first few yrs, it had to be proven to me time and again. However, one of the things that opened my heart to stuff like that was meeting a true, real life psychic.

One day I went to work, and had to work across this big machine from another person for 12 hour shifts. On this particular shift the person I had to work across from was a huge lady about 400 lbs. She laughed at my rather unsympathetic reaction at working with her for 12 hrs, and told me to sit down and shut up, and I might learn something about a thing or two.

She spent the next 12 hours telling me details that I was thinking about, and the events surrounding them in my life. She picked obscure thoughts right out of my head like I was jotting them down and she could see what I was writing. She knew things about me I had forgotten myself.

I thanked her profusely, and was looking forward to the next night spent listening to her... I never saw her again. She opened my eyes to my own lovely wife's abilities though, and the last twenty years have been more than full of proof for me. I know one thing, that there is much more than meets the eye in this life we live. It just get's more and more interesting as I go. :) Peace....

I went to a psychic 3 times. She actually asked my mother if she could talk to me, because she said I had an important destiny. She sat me down and started telling me things about myself that I had never told anyone, ever. And I never will. There is no CONCEIVABLE way that she could have known the things she knew.
