Since I was first introduced to Islam in around 2004/2005. I seem to run into the same problem, which is we I read things that stay that I must commit my life to God which to me is very hard because, yes I could pray and yes I can do all the motions but it just seems to me that when it says to give my life to God it seems like it means every second of every day that I'm alive I need to have god on my mind. That I don't ever really get time to just live and not be about religion. However I have read lines in the Koran that say that God wants me to happy and live good and that confuses me. I suspose I'm asking can anyone explain anything or give some kind of input on this?
well mohammed basically made it up as he went along I think aisha suspected he was just winging it . did you ever look at the case that he was a fake and just making it all up ? http://www.wikiislam.com/wiki/Muhammad_admits_to_lying_and_encourages_Muslims_to_do_likewise
Salaam Alekhum. Please forgive my presumption in taking a stab at responding to your post, since I'm not a Muslim. I'm sure you'll get much better advice from people learned in Islam. But we both worship the same God, the God of Abraham, so I thought I might share some thoughts, for what they're worth. Once you've made a commitment to God, it will guide the rest of your life, twenty-four hours a day. "Truly in remembering God do hearts find rest".(Qur'an,13:28). But that doesn't mean you can't lead a normal, happy life and that you have to be praying and thinking of God every second. I don't think Allah, the merciful and compassionate, demands the impossible from you. May God give you peace, guide you in your search for truth, and protect you from those who would twist His words into weapons of hatred and violence.
Jonny its a very great sin to put down other people's religion. You should try to be more open minded and respect other people and there faith. Try to avoid this in the future because you might say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Peace & Love
These quotes have nothing to do with the actual writting of the Koran, they just explain how a person should live. Learn to read in between the lines. Peace & Love
I agree with Mr. wayfaring stranger on what he went to and i add this to that: after you believed in God(the only true God) you must believe that there is no one can want you the best better than him. but he made the better of your situation happens only on your choice. he created earth and prepared what is necessary for you to live in. he created nature and creatures to make it easy for you to live. and he provided you guidance from the dawn of human life from the first messenger to the last one. so you live your natural human life but on the guidance of God. which you can find in the holy Qur'an and Muhammad's (the messenger of God) life. when all your life does not come of this way so your commitment is still alive. but remember you make mistakes in life, but not intentionally, not because want to, but because you are human and human is weak and naturally falls and God knows that so he promised to forgive you when you come back in regret asking for his forgiveness even thousands of tims for the same mistake. he is the ever resorted to never get bored of you and always so so so merciful.
