I told my family that I was ordering a Highlights Magazines for Children subscription for my son, while in reality, I got it for myself. I love that magazine. Always have. I'll share them with my kids though, once I'm done with them. As a side note, there's a special place in hell reserved for people who circle the hidden pictures in the Highlights magazines that are in waiting rooms.
Yeah, but I'm in my 30's and I still love it. Especially the hidden picture thing and the jokes. The jokes are so deliciously bad.
it's like animated movies having adult jokes in there...after all, if the parent is bored to tears, they're not going to take the kids.
I still read it in the Drs. office, and i watch kids TV. (i am going to school to be an 1st grade teacher though.)
I used to love that magazine. I ordered it for my oldest son (he's 7) and he didn't really share the same devotion. Ah well, such is life. I ended up cancelling the subscription after a year, the magazines were just sitting around here gathering dust. He loves the Big Backyard ones, with all the animals, that and National Geographic, the one for kids. We get the regular National Geographic as well, and he's always leafing through those when we get them.
