Say the person you're buying from is a narc, or their phone calls and texts are being monitored, and you're caught attempting to buy marijuana.

What would that charge and punishment be compared to being found in possession of marijuana?

Edit: And not a large amount either. Less than a half ounce.

Well, if you're buying from a Narc, then the charges would most likely be possession. That kind of sucks if you're buying off a narc...

I dont think the police do stings for weed in most places, usually they only do them on the street for stuff like crack and heroin.

Nah..I'm not buying from a narc. I'm going on week 2 without weed and can't stop thinking about it...and all these questions have been popping up in my head. :)

i dont see how it is right for undercover cops to pose as dealers, asking us to buy from them, isnt that like trying to persuade kids to do drugs? isnt keeping us off drugs their mission?

    no no no.

Lets say a kid 17 years old gets busted. He gets caught with 2 oz's and is facing time in jail. He is told by the police he can rat on people to get out of the charges and everything will just "fade away". What the cops will do is set up the deal. The police will find out what kind of car the buyer is driving. Once the deal is made they will do a "routine" traffic stop. This is when they will bust them. It will make the buyer think the weren't ratted on (even though they'll prlly figure it out anyways after thinking about it while in jail).

yeahhh thats true, that does happen, but i still think its wrong for cops to pose as dealers and shit, its like they are trying to get us to do drugs, and trying to get us in trouble,
