My friend has inspired me to buy a turntable every time he plays those old motown records or crosby stills nash and young, or other good seventies and sixties songs on vinyl. I have been open to the idea for about more than a month, and today ramdomly I looked into a thrift shop, and the manager brought me one he had hidden somewhere, and told me it was 25$, I offered him twenty by friday. The same day I saw the same turntable at a used item music store for 95$.
technics is a good turntable. but if they are selling it for 25, there might be something seriously wrong with that
That's a about an average price, at a thrift shop, for a turntable. If its worth it to you, it depends on if it works correctly, what model it is, what features it has, if it needs a new needle or not, etc. If its one of the better model series like the 1200's, and works decent, then its a good price. I got a Technics sl5200 from a friend for 20 dollars, that works good, and I'd say it was definitely worth it.
I was looking at two ( other cheaper ones) that had no needles, and the manager came up behind me and asked me if I would look at another, and he brought it up, it was exactly as the one I saw later at the music store for 95$ and in there things are usually very cheap.
all depends on what shape its in. just about anything for 25 bux these days that is fully functional sounds like a reasonably good deal. =^^= .../\...
You know it looks in fair shape except for the cover that is craked, but we tried it with a record and it turned, although we needed speakers and amplifier to hear it. On my way out I got myself a good Honner harmonica for 1$.
