Yep! My girlfriend got me a new guitar for my birthday! It was previously owned by the guitarist from the band "page france" (it's what he used to record) and before that it was owned by the guitarist of the band called "map". AND it was played by Will Oldham at some random music festival! It's a Danelectro elesctric 12-string... Basicly the guitar of my dreams.

So yeah... yay for me i guess.

    Listen to this on shrooms.

    Or not. :D

It really doesn't matter. This version of Liz Reed kills me every time. I love playing it with the edgier phrasing. The other version of Liz Reed at the Fillmore is great too, but it's no comparison... the 6:05-6:10 tacet is my favorite... aha, I have the timings memorized by now.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YQsAxHk54x4 -- My favorite glass slide standard, by far. Friggin octave bending... wtf? I never understood that, but it's always made me feel like my heart skipped a beat.

I think the only people who ever came close to this sort of phrasing was Hendrix and Miles Davis. I never can really dig his tone on a strat, to be honest... and I've always tried to put him at the bottom of my stack. Hendrix should have played more Gibsons...

I've been getting into Thom Doucette, Fingers Taylor, and James Cotton lately... well, I've always liked James Cotton, but blending that with an occasional Popper-style explosion every now and then on the harp. (only I go for diatonics, he goes for chromatics... I've got a hard on for Lee Oskars, especially in the key of G and D)

B is such a strange note/chord... but it's awesome what you can do with them when it comes to rhythm playing.
