Right now, it is slightly more males. Stays close to 60-40 either way. I certainly did not get my job from my looks. I got it from a proven track record of doing the job and a handful of awards. and being willing to take a paycut to live in town. Job B: female concert assistant willingness to work odd hours for the good of a non profit, demonstrated ability to work with public, volunteers and artists. Good hourly for a non profit. no bennies aside from opportunity to learn the booking and contracting side. Varies day to day with volunteers (largest portion of coworkers) Again, not for my looks. dedication to the association and its goals, wide knowledge of music biz.

I am my own boss, meaning my boss is female. The most important skill I had to have was the guts to do what I do. I work around more women than men but no, I did not land my job because I am a woman. My looks don't hurt. It's important to be seen as warm and relatable in my job.
