EDINBURG, Texas (AP) -- Firefighters who spent half an hour fighting a blaze in which 2,000 pounds of marijuana went up in smoke breathed so much of it that they would have failed a drug test, a fire chief said.

It took more than 35 firefighters, 1,000 gallons of water and five gallons of chemical suppressant to extinguish the warehouse blaze on Wednesday, Fire Chief Shawn Snider said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were investigating the origin of the drugs.

The Hidalgo County fire marshal was investigating whether arson was the cause.

Snider said Thursday the firefighters were exposed to so much marijuana smoke that they would not be able to pass a drug test, despite wearing air packs to prevent them from inhaling toxic or hazardous fumes.

    I'm Cherokee/Seminole... and a bit Algonquin. We're Indians.

Or they would descend into an underground ceremonial pit,
cover it over, and chill with their long dead ancestors while high

I don't, but all I was getting at is that we really don't care... it's just annoying when people say one thing is preferred over the other, because it obviously depends on where you are and the person you're talking to? Common sense and a loosely-rooted intuitition should tell anyone that.

If you're talking Clingits in Alaska and you were less than an eighth... or if you were part Cherokee or something, there's a possibility that you'd get your ass kicked or they'd scoff/laugh and think "Another..." The Clingits embraced slavery and most of them are big drinkers, so that's just their demeanor and nature, but they really don't care. All I can say is never challange a Clingit girl to drinking games... you'd be sorry. :D

Here, the Mattaponis and Pamunkeys would actually engage in a conversation with you and break it down for you. They're two of the remaining Virginia Powhatan tribes of the Algonquin Nation. They're really kind people and did a Hell of a lot because they thought the English were fighting with them, against the Spanish--which is the only reason this Godforsaken country is here today (Which you'll never ever read in our counter-intuitive, Eurocentricized, bought-off history textbooks, because that story isn't written on paper...), and why the English and Jamestown was welcomed. They took them in as brothers and sisters, and honestly, I don't always know wether to feel guilty or take pride at being in the bloodline. Sometimes I feel a bit raped, other times, I see myself as the pillager.

We just say Indians here, or refer to tribes. Keep in mind, it's also called the "Bureau of Indian Affairs" in this country...

Yeah, I know a guy whose family is from Cherokee, NC. :D

I don't really like Cherokee, NC. I'm more for Boone, NC and Asheville, NC, when it comes to the mountains... and then Jacksonville/Emerald Isle, NC area and Hatteras/Ocracoke Island, NC, downeast. Ocracoke now has lifeguarded beaches, which I thought I'd never see in my lifetime, down there... though it was ranked number one in the country, which I'd agree with.

I just hope those damn developers have some mercy on us and leave that island alone.

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Did you try to read the writing on the wall
Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before
It's like Hilton Head Island all over again
