Does anyone know of any new Convert to DVD programs that support every format out there? I have Convert X to DVD and a couple others but still there are formats that they don't support-I have a HDDVD file and have found no way to convert it back to DVD-It won't play on a standard DVD player-also I have a compressed file KVCD-Someone must have a convertor that REALLY converts everything to DVD-also-what is a good HDDVD player that supports most formats-I heard Walmart has contracted with a Chinese company to make cheap HDDVD players -should be ready by Christmas and are to sell for 199.00!-
Yea-When ya say the floppy days-I think flop house daze-as in a smoky crash in the Haight Ashbury in 66-wuz low tech but high minded! lol--sure wish we had the net then-we could have organized the big partys better.-or' not-come ta think of it-Me and everyone I knew were pretty far from organized haha
Adderall-I don't know if I told ya about Free Geek-It's a group of dedicated Linux users over in Portland. About 10 miles from here. They have a building that is a whole city block long and their mission and goal is to get people to unplug their Windows and switch to Linux-I called there one day with a question about my XP-They did not want to even talk about Windows-which was ok-I listened to the guy talk a little about Linux and he said they had free classes there a few times a week and if ya got no money they will give ya a used computer if you volunteer to help for a few hours. Nice-If ya ever get around Portland you may want to look em up-I know I told you the inventor of Linux now lives in Portland-You may be able to go visit him-They had an article on him and he seems like just a normal workin guy-he works in his basement hahaa-Kinda funny-160 miles North of him is Bill Gates-His basemnt is the size of a football field and I don't think you can just go visit him!-not that you'd want to-
that is awsome. i would work there for free but it is pretty far away. and btw a city block is a big area. but yeah, if i met Linus Torvalds, i have no idea what i would say. i probably wouldnt say anything and get confused cause that guy is a real genius. he could probably turn my CIS college study books upside-down.

Non-functioning computers and scrap will be recycled responsibly. A very old dot-matrix printer on its way to recycling. Please see the guidelines for equipment donations. WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR COMPUTER WHEN IT IS RECYCLED? Computers that are deemed obsolete or broken are demanufactured and separated into their basic components. FREE GEEK then finds a local industrial recycler to process the materials. Plastics are processed by Denton Plastics in Portland, Oregon. Steel is sold to Schnitzer Steel, in Portland, Oregon. Aluminum, motors, wires and cables, printers, scanners, and speakers and other copper bearing material are sold to Calbag Metals in Portland, Oregon. Circuit boards and processors are sold for precious metal recovery to Calbag Metals in Portland, Oregon. Obsolete monitors and terminals are processed by Calbag Metals in Portland, Oregon. FREE GEEK works with companies that we are confident are handling the materials in an environmentally responsible manner. WHAT HAPPENS TO DONATED HARD DRIVES? At FREE GEEK, we will never boot from a hard drive before it has been wiped of data. Hard drives we are going to keep first have their partition table removed, and then are overwritten five times in the process of testing. If we are not going to reuse a hard drive, it is physically destroyed in our facility before we send it to a responsible e-waste recycler. We do not give or sell hard drives to places that do not have a similar policy. Data on donated hard drives is safe. If you want to wipe your own hard drive before donating it, you can use one of these open source tools to do so: Autoclave Wipe Eraser Boot and Nuke Stuff on this site is licensed under a Creative Commons License.
