1If anyone has any questions about Clarksville or the surrounding area I'll do what I can to answer them. I'm not real familiar with Fallsville but pass through there from time to time. If I remember correctly theres one sort of tiny general store in Fallsville but it doesn't have any gasoline. There is a small store in Ozark about 5 minutes from there. Clarksville has been pretty dry this spring but we got a good bit of rain today and more is expected through the week so it shouldn't be anywhere near as dry as last year's gathering. There are camping spots along the river just south of town past the walmart on exit 58. That park has rv hookups and open showers. If you drink you'll have to go to Scranton across the river for beer or Altus (famous since the simple life was filmed there) for wine and spirits which is about 30 minutes west on I40. The Harvest Foods is franchise but locally owned if you don't want to shop at walmart. Panther activity has been a lot higher in town than normal this year. It shouldn't be a problem but if you go wandering far from the gathering just be aware. The local paper can be read online at http://www.thegraphic.org Also, I've talked to a few family and they said leos are being a problem (one guy said they basically tore his car apart) so be careful. You don't want to get caught with more than 1 oz of grass on you for sure. Thats all I can think of atm. If you have questions just ask away.
i havent been up to the gathering yet...seen a lot of members in town though, a lot of the local businesses are being, if i may use the word "A$$holes" about such things as wearing shoes in the stores and rampant reports of younger people going in the local grocerey store and poking holes in food to get them to throw it out. i heard rumors that a 8 to 10 shoplifters have been caught in walmart in the past 4 days. and there have been as many calls to the police about other things... on the one hand, dont hold it against the small business owners because they are only going by what the police have scared them into believing... wal mart on the other hand hold it against...lol... wal mart has ruined this town.. down town used to be a nice place with lots of family owned stores...now..well there is wal mart.. anyways.. just keep your heads about ya and be cool... and if you need smoking supplies, tobbaco papers, tobbaco pipes, tape head cleaner. be sure you use those words to buy em...if not they will throw you out of the store for words like, bong, pot pipe, poppers... im sure most of ya know that.. but they have told the 3 smoke shops here to be very strict about it... though the best place to go to get smoking accessories is the L&R smoke shop in the shopping mall between pizza hut and atwoods. if you need any more info about anything in town just send me a msg...i will be happy to help.. BC
thank ya guys great info becool i think just about every1 would rather go to trade circle to get a pipe then they would a local smokeshop
diode, thanks for the info. For some reason I knew issues related to the leos and local bussinesses were going to be a problem. I just kinda believe that the businesses are lying about shoplifters, especially walmart!
bumble i doubt theyre lying exactly however 4 were caught shoplifting it never mentions how many are caught in an average week the tightened security can account for a slight increase in the numbers caught but in the past when we've gone around after the gatherings to local businesses they report no significant increase in shoplifting but a huge increase in profits did the article specify that 4 rainbows were caught or 4 people after the pa gathering a few had been caught shoplifting & they all turned out to be locals whod been caught before as well.. im not saying no rainbow would shoplift, its happened & ive seen it myself, but generaly were more conseice of what we do, & when 1 rainbow sees another shoplift, especialy in the towns surrounding the gathering theyre usualy schooled about it to all 1st time gatherers we are all ambasadors repressenting the rainbow nation whenever we are in babylon ... make your actions repressent how you wish family to be seen if you dont like locals looking at you as theives then by your actions prove that rainbows are not theives
i dont think it was in the local paper? it only comes out once a week...lol.. on wed. i had heard about trade circle, i was just passing on some of the local "no no's" for the youngers. the home owned grocerey "harvest foods" called police on some people who were walking around in the store eating items before they were paid for, my sister works there, i think a few were arrested though im not sure. my father was a leo in this town for 40 years and im almost related to everyone in town... so if you have any probs or questions dont hesitate to ask and i will help if i can.. and too i have a 63 or so gmc bus that has some parts on it if someone might need em...the motor was running but tranny is bad... i use the body itself for storage. a lot of decent lenses and some other stuff on it though that could go down the road if it was needed.
so is there any info on road blocks?? are tha leos pretty heavy n tha area??? whats tha scene looking like right now?? are there lots of ppl there yet??
no roadblocks but if u look suspicios u will be stopped & searched at 6 up kitchen/leo base camp police are lil extra heavy but fs/leo's are being far more cooperative & understanding then colorado there aparently are way more ppl then are usualy there this early, even though there was a suggestion to come later in case of an leo movie i think this year maybe huge even tho a few decided not to go to the deep south
no road blocks but you will be stopped and searched if you look suspicious?? wtf????? how the fuck do you know??? are you fucking there?? or are you just assuming that cause your reading a buncha rumors off the internet?? oh wait your not there so you must be making assumptions. what you posted at 424 this morning,,which by the way hippiestead posted last night,,said there was a road block with dogs.. your so fulla shit your eyes are turnin brown... as i recall this thread is ask a local,, not someone 1200 miles away.. geezzze...
It sounds like you may have a good point but its overshadowed by your hostility. theres no need to be aggressive. get you hippie side to remind your hillbilly side to be loving and understanding. a little tact goes a long way.
when people that are 1200 miles from the gathering start spreading information as fact based on other peoples posts on the internet in a thread that was made for locals to answer questions,, well it kinda gripes my ass,,.. ya know thats the kinda shit gets pholks hassled by the leos.. so his eyes may not be turnin brown.. i wouldnt know,, i cant see them.. my bad..
I want to say Soaring Eagle, you are doing a great job helping others who are planning to go the Gathering this year! It is really inspiring to see someone post with love and patience towards others as you have done here for so long. If I had my own gathering at the same time as nationals I hope I can remember not troll threads with hostile comments but can start my own threads and conversations with eagerness and hope! It would be nice if we all had our own little gatherings at different dates and places but the Gathering of the Tribes is the downbeat and no matter what else goes on when, the first week of July will see me and mine there if I can go anywhere! Keep the info coming from the locals!
dood if i wanted to be a troll i certainly woulda done a much better job at it.. an quite frankly,, i could care less what you would do if you were doin... as i recall this was a thread for locals to answer questions,, not for anything else.. so lets get this back on topic shall we??
I'm sure you could. I didn't think you would. I thought that too. and I said that already. What happened? j/k! Great to have you here to keep things down to Earth, hillbillie!!
I know that SE is something of a centerweb for contact, as he stays in touch with a LOT of individuals. Eagle, It'd help if you attribute info...actually that is good for anyone in here! again, diode, thanks for being our on the ground local. I love the area, but am working 2 jobs (eyeing a spot in southern CO and need the cash for the lot) and cannot get away. give your love to Ozark natural foods in Fayetteville! buy kidvillage a bunch of oatmeal or something...
