I know you it's not good to combine SSRI (selective serotonine reveiving slower) and MAO1 slowers (Monoamine Oxidase slowers).

Now I was wondering how much time would be safe te leave in between those and what can happen when you take both toghether?

In my case it concerns Sceletium tortuosum (Kanna) and passionflowers.

Hope someone knows anything bout these. thx on forehand.

They're called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI's). :)

I think you're supposed to be off an MAOI at least 14 days before taking an SSRI, not sure about vice versa. Look at the half-lives of each and see how long it takes to get most out of your system.

Dangers include serotonin syndrome, an unpleasant and possibly, though rarely, fatal condition that is caused by too much serotonin in the brain. This happens because SSRI's keep serotonin in the synapses of the brain and MAOI's prevent the serotonin from being broken down.

    Google it.

14 days is the average after discontinuence of an SSRI. Since half lives vary dramatically amongst them you might be able to take it sooner than that.
