This is another chain I made with wire. I gave it to my mother. I'm working on a gold one now and the wire wraps around a green bead with a gold shimmer to it, and it looks really good so far. Just thought I'd share.
that really is beautiful. i don't have the patience either! it's awesome that you do have the patience and you're so talented!
WOW! Nice to see something new. I wonder how you made the wires twist evenly! what kind of tool did you use for the hoops... I think its really difficult to make those loops look exactly the same each time.. I really want to see your next piece!
Ahh! I didn't realize I had so much feedback. You can see another one I made down the list. I've since made plenty more but I'm afraid one of them was a gift to someone, and another was a gift (although I'm sure I could still get a picture as she's my roommate) so I don't have pictures. I'm really learning a lot. The loops are made by wrapping wire around a knitting needle several times and then using wire cutters to cut across the tube of wrapped wire. when completed, you have several loops that are equally sized. To get the joined pieces the same size, I choose a length in wire, and then cut that same length over and over. I then use round-nosed pliers to twist the ends of the wire into a circle on the thickest part of the pliers. Then, I pull the two circles towards each other and it creates a nice curvature that is basically the same each time. Right now i'm experimenting with different colours. I loved the green and gold one because the green stone had a gold shimmer in it, and i've been looking at how the beads, stones, and wire look in the light. Maybe one day I can make enough to sell online. would anyone be interested?
I would be interested. The green one for your BF's mother is awesome. Love the wire wrap around the stone!
