I think it's quite fascinating to contemplate and compare these two accounts. Basically, both accounts claim that in the beginning we existed as disincarnate spirit entities who later took on material bodies and got entangled in matter (spiritually fell). What they seem to differ about is that I get the impression from the Cayce account that our descent into material bodies was a mistake, the ultimate result of our spiritual fall, while Carey writes explicitely that this descent is a necessary, integral part of our evolution although our spiritual fall was an unnecessary mistake.
