im getting a bong pretty soon. and what i was wondering was what is it all about "screens" do i have to have a screen to use the bong. or something.
Thats not an overly noob question, but using the word noob is lame. It was created by virgins for virgins with all the proceeds going to virgins. haha all that aside, a screen is simply....well a screen....that stops the weed from falling through the bowl and into the water below. I dont use one most of the time, i just pack it in and hope for the best, it usually works fine. When i do use a screen i find they get gummed up quickly, but who cares theyre 25 cents apiece. No, you dont need one, but try it both ways, see which works best for you.
I don't use one. Try putting some honey on your bowl before you smoke the first time, so that the weed doesn't get pulled thru the slide. After you smoke a few times you'll have a nice wall of resin to help keep things in place.
lol good one As for screens, you probably only will need them if you grind your weed before packing . Not necessary, although this way you can pack a bigger bowl and clear it faster than with a whole nug.
yeahh, you really dont need a screen dont waist your time But if you are new to smoking, i wouldnt recomend a bong in the first place lol
if it's a bong i really don't see a point in having a screen, i only use a screen in pipes so you don't get ash and little weed bits in your mouth when you're takin a hit, if some ash or little bits fall down the stem in a bowl, it's just gunna get in the water and i don't really think it'll be a big deal, i say no screen for bongs

why call a thread NOOB qeustion? it took me like 7months to realise my bong needed a screen, when i got one my bud wouldt get sucked into the water as much
