Hi everyone, I need to open a word doc, but it's protected by a password that i dont have.. Ive tried several option, no luck whatsoever.. Help please!!
I don't know about Word but there are plenty of utilities on the web for cracking PDF files. I used one for opening up a password-protected instruction manual for a product I had. The company was foolish for protecting it, which blocked out their potential customers from learning more about their product. .
Some people on the web opened up a password protected PDF that an office of the Pentagon released to the media about that embarassing incident in Iraq where an Italian journalist was shot and her interpreter killed by U.S. forces. Whoever released that document was incredibly stupid. They didn't even realize that there was free cracking software on the web. There were all sorts of other details in that document that went public, such as the type and frequency of the radio communications that the coalition forces were using, the names of the troops involved in the incident, etc. I would rate it at the same level of stupidity as Dan Rather trying to purport a faked document about Bush's guard record as genuine, not realizing that a few geeks on the internet would realize that true type fonts in general didn't exist back then in the days of old typewriters. Those people are 40 years in the past. .
