It was said many times that salvia divinorum "the diviner's sage" can bring you wisdom for life. I have only done it once, it was a scary trip but it was entirely my fault because I did it with parents in the other room and I was paranoid as you can imagine because of the consequences and lectures if they were to come in and see me rolling around... So to get to the point I became interested in spirtuality and all kind of self-help techniques after I quit smoking weed and decided to be a positive person in the world and someone that lead by example not just by talking a big game. So I was doing meditation but I slacked off because I don't find time to do it. And when I first read about Salvia in the GQ magazine and how it was legal I was so glad that there was something that was not a drug in the common term people use but more as something that can help you discover deep insights which I'm all about. So I would like comments and/or personal experiences about this wisdom hallucinogen.. Does it really show you insight or is it just hallucinations and a waste of time? I want to hear from people that are just as excited about Salvia as I am. I can't believe this is out there and legal!! Let's keep it that way and not share it with immature and irresponsible people.

    Try it and find out.
it's mind expanding. has some similarities to deep meditation but you cannot direct it Salvia takes you wherever it wants. can be an aid to self-discovery because it confronts you with your issues and brings up memories. but don't expect instant enlightenment, more likely your first experiences will be weird and difficult to integrate. especially if you smoke it because things happen so quickly. also it has a nasty habit of scaring the hell out of you.

from everything i know of salvia i wouldnt call it enlightening at al;l but confusing

peyote would be a more enlightining experience but by far meditation is the true key to enlightenment

    think about it this way

do u want a peek into a spritual existence or do you want to live there

enlightenment isnt peeking at wisdom so complex it fills a library & only remembering a single word

enlightenment takes time it takes exploration & takes daily dedication

some things like peyote can open the doors of perception alowing you to experience a more magical world but will not make the world magical when sober

enlightenment is realizing that magical world exists outside of a drug induced experience

a drug can open the door show you the way but when the door closes your right back where you started from.. to be there you just need to be there

I do not believe "true" spiritual enlightenment can be achieved through means of toxicity, but, mental enlightenment is possible. Nature & her alms to us don't put you on the pathway to true spiritual enlightenment, you do. But, they can, if properly used, shortcut us to this inner pathway. That is just my belief anyway.

Personally, I think peyote or psilocybin mushrooms are better at this than salvia. I've mentioned before I've not found my experiences with salvia to be all that great. (Soaringeagle's first two lines took the words right out of my fingers)

    hiya.
well for me i feel you can achieve enlightenment with salvia. i smoke it with respect and dont treat it like a recreational drug salvia has taught me a lot about reality. i think tis really a shame that its gonna be banned soon across america and canada. already my town council is trying to ban it but they need the ok from health canada to ban it so they cant really do anything which makes me happy.it kills me that alcohol has been legal all these years but no other drug. anyways with enlightement i became a layer in all of reality when i smoke salvia.; i see the seperate layers in my reality and sorta merge into all of them and thats when i realized i was part of everything.i interact and intermesh between many layers of reality. :)

Yea I felt the intermeshing and interconnectedness of everything the first time I took it but I didn't relax and got scared because I didn't know where I was the wall was pulling me and I heard my voice from all the years of my life, from laughter to embarrassment. One thing, I read in an article that it says that madness of the abuser starts with a laugh... I did laugh hard like never before and I did feel a little insane for a while because I didn't have a grasp or control of my reality. Like you guys said it more confusing than enlightening. I believe that's true to a certain extent but that it can be pleasurable and "teaching" if used with an open and accepting mind.

I find it to be a journey into my own mind. I learn many things from salvia and I am a student entity in this world and lady Salvia and other entities show me what is should be like or confront my problems. Other don't seem to reicve this from Salvia or they aren't hallucinating long enough. At first it is confusing, but since I'm used to the 20x experience, it hits me hard, then I am in this world learning things for a short period. Sometimes I feel I travel through time because I have no perception on time. It is interesting and insightful, but some people just can't get what they want from it. I would like to see this plant illegal because too many kids are doing it to get high rather than get an experience. Thanks for posting! I hope Salvia showes you the way next time..

What did Salvia teach you? All it does is unlock what is shrouded within your mind, but cannot be seen through the cages of your imagination. It only "teaches" you what you already know, but cannot see.

It's true many great ones say that in the end the final teaching is to learn/realize what we already know.

That is true, but I like how complex the hallucinations teach me. Like Jesus and many other gods were telling me that everyone and everythig is excepted under love. Love should be spread around as well as laughter. I have also learned the evils of today's society: money, war, terror, taking away natural lands. I have also met my emotional problems and confronted them as entities. They were too scared to come out because the trip was wearing off and they went back inside my mind. I just enjoy the insight it gives me. I am in this new world created on prinicples that I know and understand and it pushes my brain power to the limit. What a great experience! :)

yeah thats how i was when i had first tried salvia i definately felt spiritual enlightment, but then when i did lsd i was like woah salvia was nowhere near as enlightening as this. So what i recommend is to do salvia, get experienced with that and then try lsd and it will be amazing. Itd probly be amazing anyway but i liked how i did that.

I'm still "glowing" I just had some salvia....words cannot explain my experience it was scary because I didn't have a sense of self. I didn't know where I was..... I lost my point of perception and way of seeing things. I seen things as if..... The best way I can see explain it is the "wow" of how everthing is just the way we made it. I think what I learned from this is to do what you love becasue nothing else matters we are here to enjoy the experience and add value to our and each other lives....

True, I always enjoy a good LSD trip! But not too often, I don't wanna have flashbacks that are close to each other! :)
