    Go to a vodafone shop?
Only other way is go visit a guy down your local market, there's normally some bloke that does for about a fiver what the shops will charge £20 or more for. Normally, if it's like a contract phone that the contract has finished with, they'll unlock it for any use (for an extortionate fee of course. They DO have a monopoly to maintain after all).

there are plenty of freesites on the internet you can get the codes to unlock phones from without having to pay. as long as it's a fairly modern phone it can be hacked/cracked easily. i have done all of my families phones and it didn't cost 1p to do it. i think people who have an Internet connection and pay to have a phone unlocked are mugs honestly. my half brother-in-law used to pay someone like £10-£15 to get his phone unlocked and i went home, looked up his phone brand and found all the codes to unlock it in a manner of minutes, for free.

it's not based on what network the phone is on, it depends on the actual brand/model of the phone

dont be such a tit, carsick, its the phone that needs unlocking - copy and paste the following line into google and so a search for your phone - replace the x's with the make of your pphone - eg nokia and replace the zzzzzz's with the model number

    +unlock +mobile +phreak +codes +xxxxx +zzzzz

    that will do it

Vodafone are a farce anyway. I have had many a problem with them in the past. They are similar to Virgin but once you get to vodafone voicemail, there the similarity ends.

I remember when I had Vodafone and I popped into one of those shops and got this configuration where you can go outside of vodafone internet. It was vizavi configured. At the time, before colour mobiles were invented, I used to play wapscallion alot. My first internet phone was a Trium mars;)

The vizzavi internet configuration can be done by the people at vodafone.Personally I would suggest unlocking it and going with O2. Active is far better.

carsick: found this for you http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/archive/index.php/t-42669.html i did a google.co.uk search for you and every site says that phone is currently unlockable unless you go directly to vodafone and pay £15 for them to unlock it.
sucks, as nearly ever phone i've ever encountered can be unlocked for free.

just so you know, all the guys that crack phones down the market or at bootsales go to the same sites that i was trying to look and that ronnie probably knows of as well. they don't do anything special but have an internet connection and can read.
so, if you want to keep your money then always look about online first.

Why not just get a new sim? If it is merely just a Puk code you need, call customer services. Unlocking is strictly illegal.

Mind sharing some links? I looked and all I could find was assholes wanting me to pay through the nose to get an unlocking cable, their shitty software, a one-time code, etc. Fuck that.
