awwww mama and babe breastfeeding pictures are very beautiful. I love the 11 month old picture. I wish more mamas were open with breastfeeding. People treat it as unnatural and I never understood why.

 

So where are the pictures?
I am glad that people are a bit more open about breastfeeding where I live, I've never got a negative comment, mostly smiles. Although that might change with the child getting older. But when I was on vacation in England I felt like everyone was shocked to see me feed my baby in a cafe - even though I had everything covered up with a muslin.

*sigh* I wish so badly I had BFing pics. I took for granted that my babies were doing it. I never even thought that they probably wouldn't want to BF forever and didn't take pics. Take pics! Even if just to keep them for your own eyes... you'll be happy you did!

The 2nd picture to me is kind of odd that you are both naked. But a good pic regardless.
& homeschoolmama, man 3 & a half to 7 years old to ween off the boob is a bit old. When the kid is old enough to say"hey mom break out the boobs" the kid is too old. I mean after all, bottle babies are stopped bottle feeding at the age of 1 or 2 & are then on solid food. Maybe even before 1, I'm not judging, I'm just saying 3-7 years old is far too old.

 

Ummmm... it sounds kind of judgemental to me. It's not really your place to tell any mother when she should start weaning her child, or what age is "far too old" to be breastfed. Anyway, I think that this is such a cool topic for a thread. And the pictures are beautiful, especially the 11 month old one!

 

i think its a little weird that someone would think it wierd for a woman to be naked with her baby. i also feel you came off pretty judgemental. what is wrong with letting the child decide when to wean? it seems like common sense to me and it seems to be nothing but beneficial...
i really dont think its your place to tell homeschoolmama or anyone else with obviously happy, healthy kiddos how to feed them.

When or why would being naked EVER be weird? Except to the blind...
The lady is in her home with her small child, whats wrong with her deciding not to wear clothes?

 

(sigh) And THAT is exactly why I published that page so long ago! Americans... and Europeans to some extent as well have such a jaded impression of what is "normal" and what is "too old" for nurturing their children. 3 1/2 - 7 years is a FACT... not an opinion. Look it up, if you don't believe me. It's only in our "advanced" corners of the world where tearing a child from their mother's side before they're emotionally ready is considered normal & healthy.

You can think what you want of me. My children are growing up perfectly adjusted despite my meddling & overbearing protection!

Here is one of Manny and I from his first day at the boob. It was really hot in the hospital room, so all he wanted to do was sleep! He obviously got much better at nursing!

Oh, and BTW, I will nurse Mandred until he decides it is time to stop...

edit: picture removed from gallery due to crazy large number of views over the past 3 days. don't think it was fellow parents thinking "oh, look at the baby eating", but rather perverts thinking "oh, look at that giant boob". Eww. My breastfeeding pictures aren't for some stoned idiot to look at while pulling on parts of his anatomy.. just for the record.

Hats off to those that can breastfeed for so long, you are amazing!! My goal is making it to two years old, but I dunno if I can do it. I weaned my son when he was just over a year because of my own selfishness, I sure do wish I could be a mama that could nurse forever, but it's not for me!

 

yey! I found some from when Lea Lea was first born. I didn't realize I had them on a CD!
There's only one of us actually feeding...man, you sure can tell I had not one clue what I was doing!!!

 

Oh! Thankyou ladies for sharing... Those are all lovely! When I finally manage to get my computer hooked up(on my man love's right now) I'll post some of Leo on the booby. Ahhh! I can't believe I am gonna have another sweet little boob monkey in three months! Yay!
