Hard to believe with Walmart's Nazi like personnel policies that it could happen. Guess their employees are now disenchanted with the bonuses they receive each year for lack of theft, and no longer wish to rat out each other at public rallies.

 

Just when I was starting to think "maybe Karma is just a theory" ...

I miss ol' man Sam, it was a different place before his kids started running it. I interviewed at one of their warehouses and since it was a management job, they gave me the full riding tour of that monstrously large place. Man, I've never felt so sorry for working folks in my life, and I've been a farmhand and a miner.

I remember this one lady, there were a bunch of chutes in front of her with lights and buttons beside each one, and a row of boxes behind her. When a light blinked she had to grab whatever was in it, hit the button, turn and put it in the right box and whirl around quickly to spot the next light flashing. There was a special clock in front of her telling how fast she was working. As we rode off in the golf cart the manager turned to me and said "she's not fast enough, we're going to have to let her go". I thought "Damn, man, I've not seen her shirt tail touch her back the whole time we were watching".

I didn't go back for interview 2. I've never been so damned hungry that I had to treat folks like that to make a living.

 

If you don't want the job, don't work there. Simple as that.
