Pre period cramps (PMS) could turn out to be something else, not a good indicator for when it's safe. During period... I chart my cycle and I've actually ovulated DURING menstruation, it was a short cycle.
There is NO 100% safe time. Why gamble with it to begin with? Making the wrong choice at the wrong time can affect your friend and his GF for the REST of their lives. I'm not even going into the possibilities of STD's.....
the only thing thats 100% safe is absitenence i hope to god shes on the pill or another effective form of birth control anyway, a fair number of women will cramp up after overly vigorous intercourse. ie he fucked too harda nd deep and her body is protesting afterwards by crampimg
there is no safer way to avoid pregnancy then to use protection but yeah, um, pregnancy is not the worst that can happen to you. you could get an STD like herpes or even HIV. pregancy can be cured after 18 or so years and thousands and thousands of dollars. the other two NEVER go away.
