Ok, so, what's the thing about myspace?...It's great if you're doing something and you want to promote it, but if you just use your page to write about music or movies that you like and chat with few people, what's the point?... Some of my friends (who use myspace just for chatting with some people from our town) are talking me into doing my page, but I'm not sure....
I don't know. I hate MySpace. I much prefer Xanga (you can actually WRITE and read other people's blogs) and Facebook. The only reasons why I still have a MySpace are because I've had one for over two years and some of my friends only have MySpace, so it's nice to keep in touch with them there.
It all depends on what you make out of it. For most people it's simply a networking tool. I use mine to disseminate knowledge.
So many of my friends have moved away and I've been able to find almost every single one of them through MySpace, even my best friend whose family up and fled town in the middle of the night 11 years ago. MySpace reunited me with some very very loved ones and I'm really happy for that.
i write and read friends' blogs on myspace... i've also found a lot of old friends on there too like kinky ramona. for most ppl it's like another, much more personalized, email service
I'm not too big into the whole myspacing thing... but because of it I've gotten in touch with a lot of people that I've wondered about for years... and it's a good why to keep up with people... I lose numbers and people move all the time... but that way I can always message then and what have you... read up on what's going on with people.... the only people I have on my myspace are a few people from the forums and actual people I know... the rest I don't care really about. I keep mine updated with pictures of the kids, family and new things going on.
i love myspace. it makes it easy to find a ride, a sack or a party and its how i keep in touch with a lot of people. i got family and friends all over the place. and people have found me that i havent seen in years.
It's definitely nice when you make it so that spammers can't try and add you and stuff like that. It's a great social tool.
Myspace is a lot different from Facebook or Xanga. Myspace isn't only about blogging, it has INSANE amounts of music, almost every band/songwriter/comedian has a myspace, so it's a great tool to find new music. It is very easy to keep blogs up to date, they're right on your profile in the top right, people can comment them. You can add music to your page, post bulletins about things. For instance, I was going to Florida, I posted a bulletin and all my old friends saw it and responded and then new I was going to Florida. With anything else, you'd have to seperately tell everyone you wanted to know.
OK, now whose ass do I need to kick? The person who is guilty knows what I am talking about.... SHAGGY!!!!!
I have a myspace because I saw many people here have one, and I was curious to try it out. It's ok, as I can have on it my pics and write blog entries I can keep private. There are interesting online diaries some people keep there, as well as anywhere else. I have several blog accounts on various sites, so myspace is yet another one of my blogs on the net.
i met 1 of my wives there the other i met here i keep in touch with folks there who live on busses on the road ive been found there by some1 who had a crush on me when i was 15 & reconnected & became good freinds again today i use it mostly as a place to store & display many of the best videos from gatherings over the years & connect with family all over the globe & its a great place for meeting some of the most beautiful ppl ive ever met
Well, great, you're using it properly and take the most of it, but many people use it just to name of all their fav bands and chat with their friends like "Hey, I'm coming to your house tomorrow" and that just don't make sense to me... But, I have to admit, your posts sounds pretty persuasive to me...Maybe I shoud get one of those myspaces...
That's what I'm saying. Thank you. I'm on the internet with my real name in about 20 different places. If someone wants to find me, it's not that difficult. If I want to find someone, well... Why would I want to find someone?
Indeed. I'm only in it for the music. Well, mainly . I'm not into the weblogging thing at all though, and I don't see myself having a myspace if there weren't so many bands, music and concert info on it.
I have a music page, http://www.myspace.com/brianwildemusic I also use it for work, I'm a rep. for a longboard company, so it's a lot easier to talk to Skateshops and people who run skateshops and what not.
