Well, Im from Germany. I moved here when I was 6 years old and I am not legally a canadian citizin. Recently my moms been saying how if I get caught with marijuana I can get deported. Would they really kick me out of Canada for possesion?
Hell no, brother! Marijuana is in the process of being legallized in Canada! The bill was passed, all they have to do yet is enforce it! My roommate was up in Toronto for a while, and he said that it was awesome: All the homeless and poor people are just out on the streets smoking joints and stuff, hahahah. So go ahead and rauch in der Name von Deutschland! =P (hope I got that right!)
They can't leglize it becuase they are signed up to the UN Single convention and I can't see the US of A letting them go ahead with it especially when it's a neighbouring country without kicking up serious hassle.
I don't think you can deported(you can go to jail for a short time/LONG time obviously) unless you're holding Johnny Depp/Blow ammounts of drugs. And even then you'd go to jail, not deported. And you're talking about Canada! They love pot there!
That's right. Young Americans have this collected fantasy that Canada is some progressive pro-pot culture. It's not. Law enforement is just incredibly lax- just like all canadian institutions. And it's true- The US will tell Canada when and what it can legalize.
Maybe it's in the process of being decriminlised but not legalised and there's a big difference. Even the likes of the Netherlands won't legalise it because of the pressure America would put on them not to. Basically you could argue and you be justisfied in doing so that the USA is keeping cannabis illegal all over the world. It's being decriminlised all over Europe bit by bit. But until one country (and that's all it should take) has the balls to legalise regardless of what the USA say it'll remain the way it is. I think if one country legalises it others will follow. Alot people think it could be the Netherlands but I don't think they will I'd say it'd be Switzerland.
