Does anyone know any special intentions, meditations, or prayers for Tara's blessings? I know a couple but I would like to learn more. Thanks for reading this! Om mani padme hum! Peace and love
Tara is the Divine Mother, right. Check this out.... Ramakrishna, the Hindu enlightened master, states that all women are the manifestation of the Divine Mother of the universe. When I see good women of respectable families, I behold in them the Divine Mother in purity; and when again I look at public women of the city, seated in their open verandahs, arrayed in the garb of immorality and shamelessness, in them also do I see the Divine Mother sporting, only in a different attire. ---Ramakrishna Women whether naturally good or not, whether chaste or unchaste, should always be regarded as images of the Blissful Divine Mother . ---Ramakrishna So , you can see that you yourself are Tara. When you pray to her, you are praying to Tara within you. I too see all women and little girls as the embodiment of the Divine Mother, and mentally prostrate to them.
I understand that Tara is one with me. I just am looking for specific meditations or mantras to honor what already exists within me. Peace and love
And I too honor you. I can give a certain mental prayer which I follow, which I learnt from Ramakrishna. He used to see all women , females and girls as the embodiment of the Divine Mother , and used to prostrate before them and see them as his mother. I do it only mentally. And I find it effective and spiritually uplifting. Perhaps you can also do this.
Perhaps. I just find it hard to prostrate mentally. It's easier for me to visualize and meditate. I have heard that if you do not prostrate correctly, you might end up as some sort of animal in another life! So I am waiting for a proper guru before I attempt to prostrate. Peace and love
Visualize yourself prostrating before Tara , the Divine Mother, in girls, women, female animals and birds , and in yourself as well. This will help. It is ridiculous. There is no such thing. You only take an animal birth if you are very unconscious in what you do, with no mindfulness at all. You must use logic as Buddha taught, to remove the superstitions in Buddhism as well, which has crept into it after the buddhas demise. Otherwise , you will see FedUps in Buddhism as well.
Actually, it was a a very knowledgeable man who said this. It means that one must fully concentrate on what they are doing and know how to do this sacred tradition. That is why I will wait untill the appropriate guru instructs me on how to do it. Peace and love
And I assure u , there is no such stuff. Be brave. You are doing a noble thing. Even if u became an "an animal " , at least you were true to yourself , and did what you thought was right. Ravi Shankar, the Indian enlightened master has stated that very rarely does this phenomenon of human beings becoming animals happen . In a spiritually developed person, it never happens.
Well, I think the warning means that you need to have the guidance of a trained guru. That's how I interpret that. I would still appreciate different meditations or mantras! Om mani padme hum! Peace and love
Ok, there is a logic in that. And I hope you put that forward, instead of statements that u will become an animal or something, if u did some trivial thing wrong. Pray to Tara for what you want, and She will give u what you need.
Also wish to state that RAmakrishna has said, " A true lover of God makes his or her own rules to worship God ."
I see that you have something of a ramakrishna within you as well.... http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240923
Yes, I am a true lover of Tara. I am devoted to Green Tara and will devote my life to quick enlightenment through her. Peace and love
If you're interested in a more extensive puja http://www.lamrim.org.uk/bristol/download/tara_puja_filofax.pdf is pretty good
Oh, and on the subject of learning prostration from a trained master, here's an excellent video from my teacher Tsem Tulku Rinpoche Don't let his joking manner throw you off, he really does know what he's talking about.
