Is he a revolution and a great talent? and just a druggie with a once succesful band?? tbh, im not a fan whats your opinion??
He is in no way revolutionary. I don't even know why someone would come to that conclusion. Yeah, he's a good song writer and has some nice melodies, but neither are particularly "wow." The Libertines were good and his solo stuff is decent, nothing more. If he didn't spend so much money on coke his solo album wouldn't have sounded like it was recorded on a two-track. There's plenty of modern artists people don't know about better than him in every single way
I don't think he's revolutionary, nor do I think he's just a druggie with a once good band. I think he makes really good music. And I love listening to his voice. I just wish he would get off drugs. He's 27....and he'll be that for another 6 months. If he lives. I hope he doesn't die!
The Libertines were pretty good at times and i've heard a few decent babyshambles tunes but i don't think he's a modern day great or a misunderstood poet or any of that bullshit you hear some of his fans say. He is just the latest in a long line of 'stars' the media has focussed on, due to their drug use, to sell papers. Although i do think doherty half enjoys the negative attention he gets from the press. Not the greatest but not the worst.
The Libertines are my favourite band, there's never been a band that evoked more love for music in me than them. I also like Babyshambles a lot, but not as much as the Libs. Nothing can beat the cooperation between Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, they're made for eachother, musically and personally. But the topic was about Pete, so I won't get too much off-topic. I think he's an amzing talent, I love his lyrics, the love he puts in making music, and the way he seems to never run out of melodies. I'm glad he's pulling himself together at the moment, because there's so much more in him than most people think.
well i think he has talent....though everyone has there problems *frowns* the libertines song ~ don't look back into the sun = i believe change my life for the better
i think pete doherty is talented, beautiful and wonderful. i couldn't care less if he uses drugs or not. many great musicians used drugs and they were still great.
My friend Amber and I are in love with this man. Amber purchased an NME mag, and inside was a bunch of interviews of different bands. Pete Doherty is featured there, and we could not understand a fucking word that he said. We leafed through the mag, and they actually had to write an excerpt from the interview because nobody understand a word. It was quite ridiculous, but I think we will always love that man. I also love his hats and the fact that he can say: "Oi! I've been boinkin' Kate Moss n you haven't, you chav!!" be your own WALTER
i don't think he is great at all. i don't care about the drugs, i just don't think his music is very good.
Well he hasn't had "one good band", he's had two. Libertines and Babyshambles. Unless you don't consider babyshambles good.
