Well, I was organizing stuff for my move...(building a white pine house wayyyyyy back in the Smoky Mtns, pictures coming soon).....but I digress! :)

Anyway, while boxing things up I found the "Howdy Folks" from the 1987 Rainbow Gathering. I remember (faintly) somebody, somewhere, on some online forum, asking if anybody had any old flyers, and one of them that he/she wanted was this one.

Anybody know who was looking for this flyer???? Twenty years ago and its still in pretty good shape.

Does RFOLL even print Howdy Folks any more? If so, when was the last hard copy Howdy Folks? That would be one for the Archives!

    HillbillyAnn,

I collect them, THE ALWAYS FREE, New World Rising, Rainbow Guide and other "Family" related articles/mags/newspapers/postcards/etc. "FAMILY" has done alot & I search for 'em.
Also anything Family or Forestry made with "Rainbow Family" upon it. One year in Ocala "BOTH" made Frisbee's and I was blessed with both.

    Howdy Howdy Tradin' Bill!
Seems you are the one that has stepped forwarded first in line for the 1987 "Howdy Folks." Would you like the original (OK condition) or would you like me to scan it for you (a bit crisper version)?

Email me: annpaige@gmail.com and we will work out the details. [IMG]
Always willing to help add to anyone's Rainbow archives.

1987 was my first gathering....it truly changed my life. It was like somebody cleaned the windows I was looking out from. I saw what was and what could be.

Hey, if Plunker wants a copy I would be more than happy to send him one...pass that along if ya'll would.

Hey, Matthew.....where you be at? :)

    hippiestead,
Let me know where I can email the scanned copy my dear! [IMG]

    makno,
Yep....that was the year for the poo-poos in NC. Luckily, I didn't catch it....just caught a lot of love.

The 87 gathering was the biggest thing to hit my home town in years.
That was also the year that the local news crew, covering the gathering, interviewed my Dad on tv about what he thought about all those hippies wanting to congregate on federal land. My dad, carpenter by trade, limited in his "knowledge of the world", a simple guy who was suspicious of any long-haired types, said on tv: "those folks have just as much right to get together on federal land as I so, whether the Forest Service likes it or not."

My dad instilled in his kids a very healthy critical eye toward authority.[IMG]

Anyway....I digress.....great memories of that gathering!

Anybody who wants a scanned copy....let me know.
