Real terrorism vs the bs the goverment is selling

Terrorism. Yes in its true form, not this BS the goverment is pounding up everyones asses is perfect. Terrorism has no real targets but rather random, no real planning but rather quick plots. How much do the people really care if you attack a military base or a large building? Its a blow but much risk, money and planning. Now real terrorism is there to create such terror among its targeted peope that they cease to function becuase of fear.

So if you had to do this would you set out to hijack airplanes and die during it to scare people? Exactly what did that do? Fearful to fly perhaps but did that deeply disrupt the people? So how about the same amount of people say 10 for a round number randomly in 5 different states drive by and shoot children playing in school yards, blow up day cares, plant explosives in shopping centers ect? It would seem that would instill fear for it is random, easily done, far more have children than fly. If you cant trust your children are safe than would you go to work that day? The jobs you did that interacted with others now has a void so it now affects others and so on. Being the targets would be random and likely days or weeks before the terrorists would be caught they could travel and continue these assualts.

Now that is true terrorism. This other shit is Hollywood and as later facts have come out very unbelievable.

I think that since it was obvious the goverment played this game out to further remove its citizens rights all under the umberalla of protection of its people. The reality was and is that the people need protection from those providing the protection.

 

Terrorism isn't just about scaring people, it's about creating prolongued fear of what could happen. The 9/11 attack caused a people to feel vulnerable to something they'd never even dreamed of before, and thus to allow their liberty to be eroded in the name of security. I'd say that's a fair bit of damage. And of course, those who are angry at those liberties being eroded end up being more sympathetic towards the aggressors, even though they caused it.

That, by the way, is why you blow up government buildings and not daycare centres. A daycare centre doesn't demonstrate power (no-one would seriously think that a daycare centre would have any kind of rigorous bomb-scanning procedure or security policy), and killing children will never garner you any sympathy. It doesn't have any knock-on effect that benefited the terrorist.

Still, at least you're not one of those conspiracy dorks who thinks that, just because the government was creaming itself over the prospect of being able to bring in all kinds of wacky laws under the pretext of security, they must have been responsible for the incident. Those people REALLY don't give terrorists enough credit.

 

When was terrorism about the power of being taken seriously? Its a disruption. When you hear of ploice being killed your more likely to believe its thier job when children die people take notice. My example would be the Oklahoma city bombing. It was trajic but took on a new plane when the children in the buildings daycare was addressed. There is a softer spot when children are in the light of attacks. Look at pictures of combat zones. You see people its sad, you see kids and its devistating.

Attacks are attacks, if there are a series of attacks on smaller profile targets but you know the people who did it are still loose would that not solve the problem to show just how vulnerable the people are. Look at the school shootings in recent times and that was done by our own people who stuck around. How vulnerable would we feel if the attacks were from outside sources just doing this at random and moving on?

I would care far more and worry far more about a random act, no way to predict targets or reasons for targets. Just me I guess but I worry more about the people than the power and money. Buildings and money are things, lives are not.

 

So how does bin Laden and "al-Qaeda" benefit from terrorism, when they know it will only result in more deaths of their people, as well as more foreign occupation of their lands? What did they stand to gain from 9/11, or the government operation in the London Underground on 7/7?

Before you berate people as being conspiracy nerds, why don't you try looking at the facts to see how none of what the public is told adds up.

You see, the problem isn't with people like me not giving the terrorists enough credit, but gullible people like you not giving fascistic governments enough credit. Instead, you see government as a good shepherd which exists to serve and protect you, which could never be capable of carrying out such an atrocity against "its own people," as if the people who control the government at the top view the average person the same way they view themselves and their ilk.

Kids are randomly killed every single day - not by ''terrorists'' - don't see that as creating fear - well maybe but we are fearful of that shady character who looks at kids in the playground or that guy who never seems to have a g/f.. Imho terrorists pick their targets because it has a air of ''legitimacy'' - how many people in this forum despise ''corporate power'' etc etc etc - lots do.
So if you make the target seemingly ''legitimate'' it is far more powerful.

 

Yes, it's devastating, and it makes you think "My god, these people are monsters." But that's not all they want you to think.

Probably less, because we could feel, at least on some level, that something could have been done. The reason those shootings were so scary was because the people doing the killing were "normal honest Americans" or whatever. They made you think "shit, there were nerds in my class that I used to rip on too; THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME". You probably wouldn't feel as scared if it's just some lunatic wandering around the streets doing it, because you don't know why they're doing it.

And while I see your point, do you actually see a suicide bombing on the news and think "ah well, at least he's dead, so I'll be safe now"?

Yeah, you know there were over a thousand people killed in the WTC, right? Wasn't just property damage.

If someone wants to start a holy war, you figure they're anticipating a few casualties. Luring the West into war has unified great chunks of the Arab world against it.

When did he claim to have a hand in it? You mean in that bogus tape that was mysteriously and conveniently found in some vacant house in Afghanistan (or so we were told)? That was proven to be a fraud long ago, but the media ignored it. Not only was the tape deliberately mistranslated, analysis shows that it wasn't even bin Laden in the video, but some fat guy with a beard like bin Laden. That might explain why the video shows "Osama" using the wrong hand to write.

Some of the first/early terrorist were the American Minutemen standing behind trees, hiding in homes and sniping at British soldiers.

There were over three thousand people killed when the twin towers came down, not all of them were US citizens like Lieberman would want us to think, many of the lowly paid waiters and busboys on the top floor restaurant were illegals. Unless the US has granted all the casualites US citizenship postmordem.

Daycare centers were blown up and children killed with the Oklahoma bombings. That should be considered a terrorist attack. I don't know how it affected those that bombed the building, but it certainly affected the lives of the families with the children in the daycare. It was handled as an illegal act and the perpetrators were supposed captured and executed. A holy war wasn't called.

The IRA is a factor that I don't think the Bush Administration or American politicians have ever addressed. They are openly terrorists.
