You know what's really weird? Now that I've lived here awhile when I hear other Americans talk it annoys me. Unless it's my family, somehow their accents don't bother me; but I mean people on XBox Live or the Telly. I dunno. But then I think, I probably sound just like them. ... poor me.
The English don't have an accent unless you are from up north. The influence of North british accent is largely influenced by scotland. Girls in Britain. I find them a mystery. That is why the best advice I can give you is to walk around a bit and get talking to some chicks in a nightclub or some boom boom room once you arrive in Britain. Got a good Boom Boom room up in Catford. Plays Motown most of the time and there are a few chicks who have American boyfriends.
It's interesting that Brits,Aussies and other actors can get our accents really well in movies,tv,ect. There's no way I could imitate some of the accents I've heard from over there. The little Scot in Mike Leigh's Movie "Naked" fascinated me to no end.Couldn't understand a word. And cockney.I gotta get over and do me some listenin'.
That's bollocks. Bristolians have a very distinctive accent, as do most of us down here in the south-west.
ya most englanders have a pretty crazy accent i love it. man a english girl could talk my pnts off so fast lol. the accent is soooo sexy
Bristol have an accent. I think maybe because Bristol is close to Wales so they have a Welsh accent influence. Mostly it is geographical. As for south east, it is basically bland accent. Nothing special. Not even posh or snooty. Just original/
People from bristol go oo arr and sound loik Wurzel Gummidge Actually no, in Bristol itself it tends to be a bit faster-speaking than rural Somerset. In my experience, the less politically-aware a girl is, the more she will like an American accent. 's true. To your average "dumb blonde" you'll sound like her favourite TV shows. To a politically radical woman you'll remind her of the terrible arrogance and imperialism of the American government.
i pretty much love any accent that's not my own. they're all so interesting to me. some sexy, some not. but i'd have to imagine, with the inundation of american media programs that the american accents aren't all that "different" sounding, which is the primary interest in an accent, don't you think? probably some evolutionary trigger to breed outside your own gene pool to prevent stagnation. i sorta have a drawl, slow, roundy, and i don't sound nearly as strident in person as i do online. i think people expect me to be some frigid ass northerner or big haired texan nightmare rodeo queen. but i've never once heard of anyone liking my accent. crying shame.
