Whelp, I finally took the plunge. I was a little nervous 'cause though I've been ramping up to this for awhile, I just lost my job last week. I hit the 'fuck it' stage this weekend though. If someone doesn't want to hire me 'cause I got my proto dreads forming, then I don't wanna work there. But enough of the rat-race ramble... The hub and I sat down on Saturday and sectioned off my hair. Took maybe 5 hours as he's not all that experienced in playing with hair and he's fussy but things were looking pretty sweet Sunday, my best friend came over and she took the dog comb to my head. We watched Dazed and Confused, Judge Dredd, JC Superstar and played some Katamari. Six hours later, I'm searching for some big shoes 'cause I'm a walking SideShow Bob! So now we got the basics, I'm going to go over and tighten the roots a little better and take out the bands my friend put in the tips. Thus far, I've managed to resist the jar of wax that I've had kicking about, since that seems to be the prime directive of this forum. (I will find a good use for it though, just not for my hair. Waste not and all that.) I'm also thinking of wool wrapping a good many of them for the first few months to help them tighten and stay separate. I picked out some nice wool today when I went hunting for a latch hook. After 45 mins of sorting through a yarn isle (holy acrylic everything!), I decided that I might as well take up knitting. I'm gonna need some nice headbands n' hats anyways. So that's it, day three of my journey. I should have a nice Bob pic to show you later on. Oh! and my first dread has been named The Sacred Chao Lick. (haha..be the first time ever I'll have my cow lick under control....or will it be controlling me? Dun dun dun...) Hail Eris!
