What do you like more; your online life or your offline life?

I prefer my online life, although sometimes it is nice to walk around in a 3-dimensional world.

 

i think i like my dream life better then either of them.

i like the diversity that real life supplies better then anything i can INTENTIONALY immagine, but, and this is why i think that in dreams we're plugged into some kind of a psionic internet, because this same kind of random diversity that can come up in waking life occurs in them too.

i wouldn't call the internet, for me a life, but more of a teleportation device that lets me see places and hear things, much further away then i could ever afford to travel to experience, even if i had a decent cash flow and a good vehicule.

you know, the kinds of things that intrest me, that mostly arn't about people, other then looking for ways they might be encouraged to not contribute to creating the conditions that cause each other's suffering.

but the tecnologies that facilitate doing so and infrastructure to be more harmonious with nature's cycles of renewal.

creating and exploring are what gratify, and i use the computer to create with. exploring the net and exploring real life are both exploring and each have their own rewards when approached in this manor. so there's no either or about it, nor even a whole lot of more or less.

not better or worse, which are egg sucking words anyway, which leave only the shell.

I like my online life much better, so much more love. I must agree, sometimes it is nice to go outside and take in "reality".

 

My online life is merely an extension of my reality.

 

i'm sorry, maybe i'm an ungrateful nerd, but as much as i love you guys, i'll take the real thing any day. my life may not be the way i want it, but it's real.

 

Mine is boring... haha If i wasn't here I would be sitting on the couch starring at the wall... or trying to think of something to entertain me.

 

I find my online life..is a double edged sword. Im quite popular and also very hated on at the same time. I am also way more introverted in real life. Though not as popular or hated for that matter either..so Id say real I guess

but i do wish that i could just take all you hipforumers and make our own country or something. you people are waaay better than the people im actually surrounded by. man you dont even know. sometimes i wish we could all see what each others lives are really like but at the same time im glad we cant. that would be all bad

 

I think that's what it is for me also... these people out here suck... most of them are snobby and don't know how to take a damn joke.

Could you imajine a bunch of us drunk together... hahaha Now that would be something else!

yeah i know!! it would be so hard though seeing as how some of us are on opposite sides of the country, in different countries even...but it can be done!! it can be done.

 

I have a great off line life, and spend most of the day living it. I also love to come to Hip Forums to communicate with others and express myself. I live in the country, and only go to town once a week. I live with my partner and one other male, and we all caretake some property. It is a very quiet and solitary lifestyle. I am always excited to read interesting people's thoughts, and to take part in discussions.
I love the humor on Random Thoughts, so many very funny people, and I need to laugh at least a part of everyday to feel good. So thanks to my online friends for being so funny and contributing to my good health, and for being so readily available, just a click away.

 

Online life sucks I get more respect in real world

 

you know, i'm not even interested in respect or people liking me or liking other people. i love my real-life life, because it's real, even when it sucks. like today i didn't get my damn paycheck. well, i love my life anyway. i mean, it's not like i'm going to get another one, in this incarnation at any rate.

that being said, i love the people i've "met" here, and the hipforums actually has played a major role in creating positive change in my real life. i mean seriously. it provide me a forum to vent, socialize, grieve, laugh, learn, and grow in during the times when i was so closed up in myself i couldn't reach out to the "real" people around me, and actively transferring those changes into my "real" life has had an impact like you wouldn't believe. the changes would never have happened without real world action, but their seeds were planted here.

so yeah, um, thanks guys.

i have met several people personally that i "met" here on the forums, and i have to say that the friendships took on a much richer and, well, realistic quality when they manifested offline into face-to-face contact with real live people. my understanding of them changed and matured. i'm grateful.

here on the forums i "met" a guy that reminded me of a close friend i had since 5th grade, so i "introduced" them, via email. they have been together for over 3 years and recently married. rob was fun to write to here on the forums, but in real life, he feels like a brother.

so yeah, i'm not complaining about my online life. i love that, too. but even though much of the time it isn't the way i want it, and it is definately enriched by my online life, i love, love, love my real life more. i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

 

I have never looked at my posting on these forum as a "life" of some sort.


I just post on these forums, that's about it... it's not an "online life"...

Even though, I hardly have a life right now as it is.

 

I have my online friends and my real ones and I like to believe they are pretty much alike. Easy going funny ppl who have goals and drive in life, that care for thier family so to me I see no difference really. This online is part of my life just without the whole right there deal.

 

I sometimes like my online life better because theres this kid named Andrew who lives in England, and I live in America. so yeah....

He is amazing, he sends me emails all the time. We have only talked on the phone twice. Once for an hour, the other for almost 3 hours. Hes ...amazing........


so yeah, online life, and real life, it all works

 

Yeah, my life is just my life. Coming on here is something I do... just like I go to shows, for walks, to the store, watch movies, go camping, on trips, plan to move, go out to parties...... I happen to know some people that come here in person and see a couple regularly and talk to others regularly but I wouldn't even say they slip into another life cause I just have my life period.
