Fritz The Cat. You want to witness a true slice of the 60s/early 70s? Rent or buy this movie. A tad hard to find, but if you have access to a hip video store that carries stuff off the beaten track, you may get lucky. If not that, it's an easy find on eBay. That's where I got my copy.

First time I saw it was in the theater in Torrance, CA with a friend, 1970. They seriously showed this at a "family theater" with no qualms, and no backlash. I'm amazed about that when I think of it in the context of the times.

Animated flick, of a cat (feline) named Fritz and his journey through the counter culture in the 60s. Here's a short, but great scene from the movie (not including Fritz):

I just wish someone would have also done a move with the Fury Freak Brothers...

Yeah, Great Flick. Saw it in theater in the '70s and it was really far out, (oops). When I watched this clip, there was another that said reupload and started with the opening scene and credits. (I thought it looked like Robert Crumb's work). Loved the opening scene when the high-rise worker takes a leak over the side. Now I'm gonna be looking for this movie.

BTW, I was going to mention if it was just colors out of context to anything, 2001: A Space Odyssey was really noted for it's final scenes back in '69. Saw that in theater at the time and it was unique back then. Saw it straight (I was straight at the time) but lots of heads were into watching it stoned.

For those who like Easy Ryder(69) ...they should try The Trip(67) and Psych-Out(68) 'cause it's a little bit the same family of actors and friends who made those movies ...
there's others movie like 2001 Space Odissey, Big Lebowski & Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but i think that's a lot of people already knows them...it's not enough original...
I think it's much more interesting to find more or less mind alterated movie who are not that "massively" popular... so here are a few of this...
    - Smiley Face (2007)
    - Salton Sea (2002)
    - Zardoz (1974)...etc...
most Terry Gilliam and David Lynch movies can be considered as mind altered... or interesting while you're gettin' high & stoned...
I mean there's really too much choice ...we should classify them by sub-genre... because there's probably more than HUNDRED good to great movies of that special kind

Harvard Man- pretty terrible movie but there is like a good 45 mins where the guy is tripping on 15,000 micrograms.

Animatrix-Its split into mini films and the last one in particular is absolutely amazing.

    The Doors

Aladdin- Ive only seen it high but I imagine its good tripping.

Human Traffic- Its a movie about rave culture and describes it all better than any movie I've seen and pretty funny too.

Waking life-trippy animation, deep thoughtful ideas, yah
