Do english girls/guys like US accents? also Do english girls/guys like US guys? Personaly ilove english accents u guys sound so dam smart sometimes i feel like a tard lol i am just wondering what people think.
Personally, I don't find the American accent attractive...I'm not a girl though. Hahaha! I actually find it annoying and reminds me of everything I don't like about America; although, saying that, I do find it interesting seeming I don't come across much different accents.
I'm interested in the American accents and dialects. Much like I'm interested in the many accents we have over here. As for American guys, I don't really go out looking for a specific kind of man, if I happened to meet an American who I thought was nice, then sure...why not!
Well it depends on what part of America your from, I really really really hate the way some of women from America sound, annoying, squeeky etc. But yeah the blokes accent's can be alrite
Problem is with the "these people love accents from this country" thing is, every country has a fuckton of different accents. Sure, American girls may swoon over the quiet carm and sophistication of a southern English accent, but I could probably get a quarter of the population of Arkansas to run for their lives by yelling "ayup old cock 'ows tha duin'?" in my Yorkshire twang. Don't even get me started on the scouse accent...DEFCON fucking one. Since you asked though, I think the US accent is okay generally. Maybe not the full on balls-to-the-wall Uncle Sam full on accent, but it's cute when a girl has a bit of the accent. Now, Irish accents...they are cold shower material
ya i only been in the uk for like a year so far... where have u been around the world? but ya i think the hardest part about english is the slang. like for example when some one said want out for a lorie i thought it was a fat chick or something and when i was at breakfast some one said cheerio and i was like no thank u i want some eggs. lol ya its funny i know its just kicks my ass. see what gets me is that we england is small and it has a ton of diffrent accents. the US u might say a word diffrently here and there. but england is like crazy how diffrent places talk so diffrent
I've travelled all over, but lived in Japan and the Czech Republic. Where abouts in the UK have you been staying? As for our accents, it's pretty much to do with who invaded us and from where.... Like the northern accents sound a lot harsher on the ears...this is due to them still having connections with Old Norse. Then we've got the standard English or R.P accent, which pretty much came about around the Middle English times. This accent actually derives from the east Midlands, because that's where all the traders lived and travelled down to London in order to trade. And, most interestingly enough...Southern American accents are actually more closely related to how we used to speak a good few hundred years ago.
i live near cambridge/newmarket area. i never been to japan i really want to go. i been to mexico canada some places in the middle east. where are u now? what do u do for a living? ya i never cared for somethern accents they talk way to slow. i lived in the south for a year.... lets just say it was a long year lol i love the english accents i never been with a english bird but the accents drive me crazy i just want to giggle all the time cause i love to hear english girls talk. i hope that dont sound gay lol.
Actually, I lie. I love the Southern drawl, like Belle off The Simpsons epsiode Bart After Dark. It's really sexy.
I'm currently back in Devon (south-west England) and have just started a new job working in a business to business telecommunications company. However, I also do a bit of English foreign language teaching on the side. I will be doing much more, now that summer has arrived good and proper! Is there a particular English accent that you like? I'm guessing if you're based in the Cambridge area, that most will talk with an R.P accent.
I've found talking to the English that generally, the majority use a much higher diction than we do, hence the smart thing. I love English accents, but I'm not that fond of American ones. But I do live in southern Canada, so I do sound a lot like northern Americans, not hillbillies though. It all depends, accents change like every five miles around here. I'm sure it's like everything else, some do, some don't.
i cant really tell them all apart just yet. lol naybe u can help me lol i just like the basic one i guess more posh i really dont know how to explaine it with out sounding ingorant
