hiking, kayaking, skiing, mountain-climbing, swimming... what are your favorite activities? mine is backpacking.
Laying in the tent on a warm breezy day with the screens open drifting away to dream land and then back to reality. That's my favorite part about camping.
i agree, lying against my sleeping bag with the tent flaps open being warmed by the sun and warm breeze in th evening watching the sun going down in the distance watching the shadows move as the sun moves, thats life i tell ya, especialy when you are with someone you love snuggle up, dont even say anything just lay there taking it all in, when the sun sets you lay there staring up at the night sky until you drift off to sleep, so relaxing, then the next morning when your relaxed and rested i pull on my coverals put on my harnes, fire up my carbide lamp and slide down a rope into the speological world.
My favorite is when somebody brings a guitar, that knows how to play it. Sit around the fire just being together as a group.
wish I could say my favorite thing is something physical..like hiking, biking, etc..but it like the others....sitting by a camp fire; listening to crickets, frogs..or people at other sites playing their music (we're not musical); a time I don't have to be anywhere, do anything I don't want to do(answer phones, solve problems) it is heaven!
My friend Sam and I get pieces of strong wood and put it in the middle of the fire until it's glowing and then recreate The Lord of the Rings by hitting the sticks together and they make really cool embers, we also play guitar and bongo's and listen to music and star gazing, his girlfriend is good at that.
for me it has to be either the unity of a camp fire, or tree climbing, taking a look around from a different perspective up high, sitting amongst the encompassing branches of a grand old tree, tis simple pleasure i know. love peace and smiles jx
listening to nothing but the hum of the earth rather than the AC lying on my back on a clear cool october night with a warm, scented breeze... I live for those times!
Cooking. Eating. Bocce ball. Badminton. Cooking on the fire. Singing songs. Making crafts out of whatever I can find. Cooking. Eating.
Good topic idea. My favorite things are: -Fishing. Not mainly to catch fish, but to relax and enjoy being by the water. -Hiking. It's great to get into the woods, connect with nature. If it's hilly it's cool to try and find a place with a good view through the trees, stuff like that is fun. Exploration in it's own right, even if I'm not the first person to see it. -Relaxing by the fire. -Staring at the stars. I usually don't use a tent if the weather is good because I'd rather lay in my sleeping bag looking up at the stars.
