Well, intelegence is overrated, hard work and persistance are more important...I would prefer practitioner instead of teoretical thinker....I have 2 ideas of ideal guy : Bosnian with sideburns and tall and corpulent computer geek...:H
And, yes, it's so hard to distinguish real intelectuals from those pseudo ones....I know a guy who is concidered as the smartest person in his enviroment, but even though he reads maybe 2 books per day, he doesn't have a single original thought in his head....

well personally i think it's "hard work" that's over rated myself. not only is it not always bennificial, it is freequently downright harmful, not so much to the individual engauged in it, but to all of the rest of society.

body builders and bizdroids are my two biggest turn OFFS with a capital OFF. hypercompetitiveness as well. girl gymnasts are pretty cool to look at but that's about it as far as anything non-'intellectual' is concerned. i seriously wish my wife were at least a little more genuinely intrinsiclly interested in anything that uses more brain power then having to have attention and playing let's pretend bizdroid.

The only thing sexy in this world is girls in underwear!

Smart people suck I hate them lol j/k. To define myself as above another human being in the matter of intelligence would be to embrace the immediate disconnection with life itself. It's something that I am trying to work on, and I believe that I have gained some progress lately. But I am definitley guilty of allowing myself to feel superior to the masses, I wish to be rid of that inflated ego sense as soon as possible.
And besides, in the eyes of God, what really IS intelligence? The memorization of useless facts pounded into our material life? Or the ability to improvise in any given situation with any given enviormental tools? I dont think its either, rather it is to shed our claimed intelligence, admit we are all children equal on this Earth, and embrace love and acceptance. That to me is intelligent, and that quality in a girl would put me in the position to desire to make babies with her :D

it can be both a turn-off and a turn-on for me. although i do not consider myself qualified to declare another person "false" or "genuine" as far as brains is concerned. i find that arrogant, as arrogant as the so-called "false intellectuals" people have complained about here.

for me it depends how much they live in their head, i guess. i tend to prefer artists to academics. i like guys who are both wise and earthy. i guess wisdom can go farhter than smarts for me.

My cousin is member of Mensa, he's 33 and doesn't do anything whole day long, he's not using his intellegence as he might, so it's like he doesn't have any...That's why I think hard work can replace intellegence....

There are those so confident in their own "superior intellect" that they refuse to take in any other opinions or point of view and despite remarkably high IQs they actually look like complete idiots for disregarding a tidbit of common sense just because it came from someone "beneath" them... like my boss!

An intellectual is someone who has the mental capacity to acquire knowledge and understanding. They have the ability to reason and make wise choices and decisions. They use their mental faculties to guide them through life, and not just their "feelings". Now, thats sexy.!

Some people think that intellectuals are people who read alot of books, or can quote Shakespeare ??? , but this is not intellect , but instead just applied academics and use of rote memory, and they are incapable of applying much of the memorized knowledge they gain. I guess this is pseudo intellectual, or having the appearance of being knowledgeable.

I think it is sexy to be able to respond to situations with intelligence and wisdom, and be a person who can learn what they need to know by determination and self motivation. I feel safe and confident living with and loving someone who I trust to be able to think, reason, and make competent decisions. People who don't utilize their intellect usually respond from their "gut feelings", which seems more heartfelt and immediate, but not as dependable in a situation where thinking and reasoning would be more beneficial.

:smartass: I like men highly intellectual, (like myself) ,and I find a good speller who can incorporate "big words" into their vocabulary a total turn-on. LOL

Actually I didn't read it... a few decades of observing people leads me to some conclusions. Every so often one turns out to be somewhat correct.

You’re right about those Scripps National Spelling Bee contestants, there’s something not quite right about them (mathematical or musical prodigies notwithstanding) [IMG]
