So I've got this one dread (maybe two even) where near the roots there's about 2 inches of good solid, tightened hair - almost like it's been dreaded for a looong time, and my lil babies are only about 3 months old. But then there's another 4 inches or so of straight hair, with no signs of knotting at all and then it's dread again the rest of the way down (not as tight as the top part). Like this:

It's not loopy, just flat out straight hair. How can I fix this? It's driving me crazy that the straight hair is just sitting there. How will it ever knot? Should I backcomb the area? Maybe I'm just worrying about it too much again. Leave it?

norml. let it be.thats how loops are formed and loops are good. even if it doesnt loop up your only 3 months in and there are only going to be spots that are real locks.
