I'm not seeing where he addresses the contradictions. But, here's the deal. If you take the bible literally, and believe in biblical inerrancy, you are faced with clear contradictions (if you bothered to read those sites). Some you can try to rationalize away (you could probably rationalize all of them away, but you'd have to do some serious word bending and reinterpretation to the point where you're lying). You can't just ignore these things and be serious about it's inerrancy. Unless you want to call your God an idiot.

If you don't take the bible literally but see it as a document, written by man, full of allegory, stories, and most importantly, SYMBOLISM, then you have much less of a problem (but still a problem, nonetheless, because some of the contradictions affect moral codes).

The site you posted is garbage. Clearly, anyone writing with a copy of the Old Testament in front of them and wanting to write about a messiah has all he needs to "fulfill the prophesies." All he has to do is write it. Many of the prophesies in the Bible have not come true and CANNOT come true (for example, Jesus said he'd return in the lives of some of his followers...but that was 2000 years ago, and they're all dead, and he didn't show).

OK, hers what I have to say:

The answers to everything spiritual like life and death can be obtained from your own mind. Others can lead you in interesting directions but the only truely life satisfying answers come from within. They are hard to find but they are there.

The lazy don't look for them, the lazy go to work 5 days a week.

So you want to know what I think, I think you shouldn't give a rats what I think and search for your own answers in your own head.

Then when you find your answers there is no need to tell anyone because the only satisfying answer comes from within, so you can't satisfy anyone else with your answer.

Anyway, this topic is interesting so here is my answer:

You are not your physical body made of matter, matter cannot think or feel.
You are the spirit that experiences life through your body. That's what life is - the bodily experience of the spirit. You were a spirit before your life, a spirit during your life and a spirit after your life. I don't quite know what I (my spirit) has been up to before this life or what I'll be up to after this life, all I know is that I will be bathing constantly in my spiritness. BE-AUTIFUL.

So what to do with life while I have it?
I think I spend too much time thinking about life and not living it!
But hey what else is there to do while your on the dole.

I have found love, but she does not know it yet. That is a great thing to do in life - make love to a woman you love. Do you think she will be keen to sleep with me if I tell her I think very highly of her? Who knows? I'll keep you posted!

 

I personally dont believe that anything happens to us after we die. That we are gone and our body is buried or cremated and that's it. Its quite a sad theory. I wish I could believe in life after death or reincarnation. Or even that I will go to heaven or something....but I dont believe any of that, and that is also one of the reasons why I fear death so much. I never ever want to die. But who really does? Although if I believed in going to heaven or something I would be able to except the idea much better.

 

I don't believe God is a bureaucrat. I don't think God is going to nit pick and be an ass about it.

That would make God unenlightened.

I remeber a claymation movie "The Adventures of Mark Twain" (been a while so my memory might be a bit off) remeber a part where a religous person dies and goes heaven but it is filled with hippie green aliens parting. The alien at the gate said "Not everyone’s heaven is the same.” and he winds up to a conventional boring heaven. If I had a choice I'd pick the first :H

 

But according to the Bible everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And the only way to get rid of that sin is accepting Christ. Most people have not accepted Christ and therefore are living in sin.

If that is true god is flawed, you don't turn away from your children just because they don't agree with you. Thus if true God has not reached even intellectual enlightenment.

they could both be ultimately illusions that we percieve as god
is the word dead hollow or does it contain the entire universe
you see what i mean words make us think we are dead or alive coming or going seeing or whatever but do we control any of this ?

I think when we die, that's it. no Heaven, No Hell. Once your Brain goes and all the Chemistry in your head/body stops then that's it. However I do believe when you die, You are born again as someone else, no relation and have any significant to do with your otherself.

 

I believe in reincarnation, your soul passing from one life to another, gaining experience along the way until you reach some state of completeness... or something like that.

It better go down that way because I'm counting on coming back from where I end up with the power to squish Regis Philbin's head with my thumb and index finger....
