Hello! I have been thinking it might be fun to get an on-line chess game going. (I don’t know if there is a website for that sort of thing though) Cheers!
Hello! Thank you for the quick reply – I will probably check those sites out. I kind of thought it would make it more fun to play chess with members of the Hip Forum.
I think you can even set up your own little leagues and things! I'm not so good at chess...way better at Chinese Checkers
eternal "wood pusher" myself. been ages since i played anyone though. never sufficiently obsessed to become any good at the '64 square madhouse'. used to look 16 to 20 moves deep when i was MUCH younger. just haven't felt worth the bother or interest for years. you know, in adolescence i was a bit captivated by some of the romantic mystique, which i still think is pretty cool. more so any more then the actual 'game' itself. i have my own and other obsessions now, which is the reason. over the years i have come to find anything incapable of simulating anything other then combat, to put it generously, at the very least, somewhat less then entirely gratifying. =^^= .../\...
Hello! Last night I was talking to my son in Alberta and he said he might be into this chess thing and I bet he would rule the league. I have not played chess in 3 years and most of the games I played were with my youngest son. The best I could do was stretch the game out for a couple of hours (instead of getting killed in the first 5 minutes) I have never played electronic chess but what I am going to start doing is – make some space by my computer – dust off and set up my chess board – find out what the #rs on the boards squares would be and get some tape and # the squares on my board - then when I am playing a chess game on line I will make the same moves on my home board. Any way if it is left to me it will take forever to set up a league I’m stupid at that sort of think. (took me forever to set up an e-mail account.) So if anyone can set up one of those leagues maybe we could be playing a game in a week or so. Cheers!
while iam here so add me to the buddie thing ready still dont know much about this place so you will have to explain a little more k
If anyone hear wants to play online or through the mail I will play. You need to know algebraic notation which is really easy to learn. I play games via mail in tournaments from the USCF. That's the United States Chess Federation. Membership dues are required to enter tournaments. I don't play on yahoo anymore because people either cheat or don't finish their games. Let me know if you are interested. I am playing 3 people now in the mail; two games a piece no pun intended.
My son and I would love to get a few friendly games of chess going with you and we won’t cheat and we will finish our games. So could you please set up a league and give us a link so we cane get it going faster? Cheers! (PS: Whats algebraic notation ?)
If you want to play me a game or two; we can get a computer board set up on the USCF "United states Chess Federation". The compute tracks all the moves so you don't need to know algebraic notation. You just need a membership and then 7 dollars for a game. We just give our email addresses, and they send us the link to the board.
hahahaha chess i good way to understand the movements and positions of people in life and why they are there in those positions jk yeah chess is a good game to play
Ok. This is how it can go. You we set up a board at both ends, and then send moves by the easiest method which is algebraic notation. You can find that on the internet pretty easy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebraic_chess_notation and if you need help I can help you. Then we just decided who gets white.
