I have recently read in magazines and newspapers, and have seen it firsthand: People nowdays are more overweight than any time in history. Young people are unhealthy and many obese teens are having to deal with Diabetes 2 and other diseases caused by carrying around too much "fat". Many of us older folks are becoming more sedentary, but now even young people today don't get the exercise that youth did in other generations. They sit in front of the computer, or watch videos and TV, and just get bigger and bigger. Spending time outside and "playing" are becoming pastimes of the past. So, it seems that no matter how nice or jolly overweight people are, they are unhealthy. What will happen to the world if everyone just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and more unhealthy, and unable to participate in the society around them.? Will everyone someday need an automated device to move them around.? Will doors everywhere need to be widened.? How could things possibly change.? We seem to be headed in a direction where much of our time will be spent in front of a monitor of some kind.? The population is also addicted to fatty un-nutritious junk foods, and people are often stressed and searching for emotional relief from their unmet needs of infant oral satifaction , by partaking of mass amounts of comfort foods and mood enhancing substances. What will happen ? What can we do ? Will we become a world of "fatties".? Is there an alternative to the way things are going?
Get all the addictive substances out of our foods that can easily get children addicted on thier foods ( mcdonalds). If only the food and drug administration would actually do something.
no, we'll be wiped away from existence and it won't even take much time because it looks like no one really wants to change a god damned nothing (except a few poor radicals, mostly laughed at all the time). the fact that people gets fatter than ever is just a side effect.
This might just be a good move for natural selection. The fat will die and the skinny and fit will once again roam the earth!
I was watch TV last night, and I thought GEE!!! alot of overweight people on TV these day and in the commercials , the way I see it , if wall is try to sell to overweight people, then their here to stay
I hope this doesn't mean that the few healthy people left have to look after the ones who have got too fat to look after themselves. People don't just start likeing veggies, you need to get rid of the junk first. It was only when i went vegan that i started appreciating good food. People aren't going to opt for bean sprouts when there's a microwaveable cheeseburger waiting in the fridge. People don't want an alternative.
Actually, when the honeybees all die and the rain stops, the fat people will be around longer after all the skinny people starve...
Not if all the skinny people eat all the fat people. Which will happen, oh yeah. I myself will be the first out there searching for some blubber!
I agree with rubin...natural selection..... you know where the change starts??? AT HOME. dont take your kids to mcdonalds because that's what pacifies them......i have to give credit to my mom.....i have always loved veggies, because my mom always fed them to us (much to my chagrin at the time). mcdonlads and pizza hut was like a once-a-month, twice-a-month treat (if we were lucky) because, well, we just didnt have the money to eat out. later on in my youth, friday nights were a treat....we went to the food court in the mall and got whatever we wanted......but that was in my mid-to late teens. i think a lot of the problem stems from home. if kids aren't introduced to great food and good nutrition at a young age, it's just going to be that much harder to get them on the right track (health wise) when they get older. btw....summertime....my mom would kick me and my brother out of the house in the afternoon and told us to come home when the streetlights came on. we had no choice!!!!!! and ps......everyone....ditch your gas-guzzler hunk of metal and ride your bikes!!!!!!
As rebelfight420 mentioned there are many crappy additives in junk food. One of the worst of these is MSG which is a stealth additive often used with many different names to disguise it. Its purpose is to unnaturally jack up the appetite to the point where people almost cannot help but chronically overeat. It is also addictive. Starting in the 60s and 70s the food industry discovered if they put it in stuff it would make people buy more and more of their expensive processed foods. Before that there were not nearly as many overweight people around. Here is a good article with the details. And another with all the stealth names for MSG.
Its a nice act worying about people... but if that really helping or just wasting a lot of your time ?? People will only chance if they want to, I don“t care !!!
