I wish I was, there are so many people around here who speak Spanish! And I have not a clue what they are saying.... I know like 10 words, so I guess that better then non.
There are quadri-linguals, There are tri-linguals, There are bi-linguals, And then there are Americans.
There is BraveSirRubin, There are quadri-linguals, There are tri-linguals, There are bi-linguals, And then there are Americans.
I'm only a poor quadri-lingual... unless you count all the Slavic languages which sound the same, but are actually named differently... if that's the case... then I can understand and kinda speak another 10 languages or so. Oh yeah.
i know enough spanish to graduate college, meaning i can speak fluently with a teacher but when i hear an actual spanish speaker i'm lucky to understand a word
That almost makes no sense to me... seems like if you can speak it fluently you would know what people are saying when you hear it...
Pavel, you're lucky we're cool. I'm trilingual. English, Korean and Mandarin, thanks to the American taxpayer and the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center.
That's pretty sweet, I want to learn some other languages. I want to be able to speak Spanish, German, and Russian.
Haha I love to tell that joke in public... people give me the most evil looks Man... Mandarin is supposed to be a fairly hard language. Was that one difficult to learn? (As for Korean... I know a couple of pop songs in it, and how to say elephant shit... I think... I had study hall in HS with a crazy Korean girl. )
I can curse like a sailor in at least 6 languages outside of english... but to speak fluently, I'm trilingual. And I'm bi in the fun way, if that's what we're elluding to.
most americans don't have to speak other languages. since the usa took power, we haven't been anally raped by other countries and other languages. though i'm secretly bilingual.
I am quadri-lingual. I speak Romanian (native), English, French and German. Oh, and a little Yiddish too.
