If we had a big country just for us hippies? Who would be the leader? What would it be like? Let`s share our thoughts on what it would be like.
Massive unemployment. Drug problems leading to high crime rate. No infrastructure. Widespead HIV. No healthcare. Wars over leadership quarrels. Ehh.... give it a year and it will turn into any messed up country in the "real world".
I don't know if you were ironic... but I think you are doomsaying here... I think we could have a totally decentralised community, lead by councils where everyone can take part if they want... Look at rainbows... It works very good there... The minimum of infrastructure can still be build... everyone does a little work, not for money, but for the communtiy... Drug use doesn't lead to crime... It's a society that condemns users that put them in marginality/crime scene... The thousands of people that know something about herbs could give better healthcare that the system we have now... As I see it... HIV is just a way of nature (or global consiousness) to take revenge on humanity because we all fuck it up... Live together in love and with nature again, and these diseases will disappear in a few years...
it's a one of the rare cases when i'm completely agree with Pavel's criticism... a country would not be a good thing... maybe some places where hippies can regularly meet.... villages festivals... anything but country... i dream of hippie mass meetings though
i really like the way you think here i don't know if it would work really..to say straight off the bat it wouldn't work is pessimistic in my mind, but to say it would is naive....
well i think if it had a leader, that would almost be a contradiction in terms, other then in the sense of somehow leading by example. but growing holographicly to displace the dominance of self seeking destructiveness, this is something that will either happen, or humanity will consume itself. =^^= .../\...
Point of my post... the whole "country" idea goes against your hippie philosophy. Small "hip" communities work, it will all fail on a larger scale.
