I have often wondered if when the majority of "young" hippies on Hippies Community see a post by someone over 40, or over 50, (thats me), Do you think.................................. "Aren't they a little old to be on Hip Forums ? OR "Shouldn't they be posting on Old Hippies.? OR "What are Grandma and Grandpa doing on this forum.? I sometimes feel a little out of place, and wonder if the youth of today on Hip Forums laugh at older people,:hah33:, or are embarrassed or reluctant to relate to the Older Age Hippies here.? What is your reaction to the varied ages of the people on Hip Forums ?
I think the 15 year olds should be gagged and sent to the north pole. Other than that... age doesn't really matter.
Its the opposite for me.... I'm a bit biased towards younger (13-15 year old) posters. Usually, older folks are wise... but not always
Actually,I think the the "older" (and you aint old hun) hippies are the ones to really listen to about hippiedom. You lived it. I am not saying that younger hippies have no say ,but you were in your teens IN the 60's. Seems to be the best experience about hippies to me. I am what they call a "tweener" . I was born in the late 60's,so i was considered too young to be a hippy. Now the younger hippies consider me too "old" to fit in.It doesn't matter to me though... I love all hippies no matter what their age. imp2: "You get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right"

I don't really feel out of place--other than the "i'm so high right now"stuff, there's a lot of smart and fun young ones here.Actually,I don't know how many know how old I am.Or give a shit.Nah--you're not old,A.B.E.
To me, hippies from all age groups are important. There should be a basis of understanding between us all (like someone mentioned, "hip" transcends all ages). The older hippies bring experience, nostalgia, and wisdom (in most cases that I've read anyways) and the youngsters bring a curiosity, fresh perspective, and willingness to learn from those who are older and more experienced. I think we can all learn from eachother, regardless of age. I know that I've learned from many Hipforumers, from all age groups. Peace energy.
Hip forums is the only place I feel comfortable about being my age. Almost everywhere else youth seems to rule, and they are terribly bias when it comes to age, and I feel that those who like hippies and/ or become hippies in this generation are naturally respectful towards people over fifty. The saying of our generation was "don't trust anyone over thirty" but we had a reason, for that, we were fighting against conservatism, Reagan, Nixon, the war and those who would send the youth to die for those who felt killing farmers was necessary. Now we are back to where we started politically, and this is why you, the young generation are here. History repeats itself, now its up to you to spread some good vibes in the world. That is the main work, the rest comes naturally.
I am always excited to meet a person of that age group.....I have always held a respect for my elders (thanks mom), but there is a wisdom that only comes through experience. I want to hear of that wisdom, and I am also anticipating the gaining of that same wisdom. I want to hear of their experience, but I know that most of what they speak of will only be truly understood with time. I only look at my elders with awe and respect: online or off.
I would never laugh at anyone on the hipforums. Every hippie, whether they are 14 or 60, should come together and bask in the bliss of peace. Besides, I don't class 55 as being old really. I like chatting to people of all ages because everyone has their own views or message to get across and on these forums they manage to get it across in a kind way, without hurting anyone's feelings. It's just nice to meet people who share my views. Peace and love to you my sister.
I don't really care about the ages of people on here. I'll occasionally look at how old a poster is, but it doesn't bother me if they're older or younger than I am. I just hope that people don't assume anything about me because of my age.
