These are the lyrics for a song I'm currently working on:

I was walking down the street on a Friday afternoon
When I saw a man playing a solemn tune
He came up to me and said mourn my friend
For today is the today the day that the world will end
I asked him what he meant and he raveled a thread
He told me that hope was crushed and dead
He said if we wanted to save the world
Than we must try to get the banner of peace unfurled

I know that we gotta repair the world
And make it safe for every boy and girl
The wind can tell a thousand tales
As it breezes by like a ship with sails
But lately it only speaks of death
    Prejudice and the hangman’s rope
    Maybe it’s not impossible
    Maybe there’s still some hope

From the war torn battlefield where bullets fly
Where hatred brews and the innocent die
To the impoverished nations crying for help
The world needs a savior the world needs help
Everyone must step up and be brave
If we all do our part than maybe we can save
Maybe we can save the world

So lets unfurl the banner of peace
There’s plenty of room we’ll all get a piece
You take one end I’ll take the other
And let us bring peace to the world my brother
Even though I don’t know you
We still gotta love each other like the families do
Cuz when the world can act like a family
Than it will be safe for you and me

    We gotta repair the world
And make it safe for every boy and girl
The wind can tell a thousand tales
As it breezes by like a ship with sails
But lately it only speaks of death
    Prejudice and the hangman’s rope
    Maybe it’s not impossible
    Maybe there’s still some hope
