when did rock and roll end

    when did rock and roll end, and alternative begin? every group i think is rock and roll, others think are alternative rock.

    hey i get this i think that rockn roll ended when ppl decided that you couldnt have any
    7 minute solos i think when we decided that guitarist were great even if they only played to chords per song.

    Rock & Roll died/ended in 1973, that's the year they started playing disco on the radio.

    Yes, all rock 'n roll dissappeared in that very year because of that.

    the great bands that made the best music in the world will end but rock n roll will never die, as long as there are fans which there always will be.

    Yeah, maybe it's not the perfect example :). Well, look at like this quote from wikipedia:

    So, when compared with rock 'n roll and there wouldn't be any innovations and it's not being made anymore, just played from cd's and stuff, I consider it dead. But that's not the case at all. So it's not dead.
