everyone it seems has money troubles so voice yourself here what i say to start is fuck money it's not important at all, yet its what this world runs on..making it vital... what do you think of the economy and capitalistic society? this could be a really in depth discourse...or it could go no where..only the internet gods have the power..ehhh discuss
Hehe... well, you know from my pm's what I think of money.... but yeah, I wish I would have saved more. I always had the attitude that money is just money and means nothing and spent it or gave it away and now I have no savings when I need it. I'm gonna be more careful with money from now on.
Basically I had nothing growing up and shoulda known better but when I first got money I was just so happy to be able to buy and do things that..... Lesson learned though.
voice money troubles here? i have none. no money that is. i hve no job an di live off of $200 a month that my gma gives me. i spend $100 of that on bills every month automatically. i owe $230 to my uniersity, $80 to my dentist and $500 to visa. im moving at th eend of the summer and i dont know how much ill be able to put towards rent, though ill be on student loans at least. and im waiting ofr a clalback from my interviewed-for-job this week, hopefully... if they havent clale dme by thursday im calling walmart and asking them to hire me lol
hotwatet that's a good quote.. my parents spoiled me growing up, both parents are in the IT business which back then and to an extent to this day paid very well...but my parents blew money all over the place, bought a boat (which we don't use) bought a trailer (which we sometimes use..rarely)...to this day even though they are in severe debt they still spend way too much...i was given everything as a child, but ended up having to give my parents all the money i got from my great grand mother for schooling to save the house...now i'm starting to go in debt it's bullshit i work my ass off for my money and i know i need to save it, but simply i would rather live life and fuck around and be happy now that have a shit load of money when i'm 80 be that as it is, i do still save for a rainy day i just wish that we didn't have these things, the stress that comes from money issues causes many people physical debt, you end up paying in your health i'm not saying we should get ride of the capitalist society we live in, cause that in itself is just a fucking bullshit idealic dream, but isn't there a better way to live? considering that the people that regulate prices and control the "money" of our society are very few, don't you think we could fix it to be better run? i don't know where i'm going with this...me being serious doesn't go over too well...
It was the opposite for me.... I was allowed one pair of shoes every two years- if we went out to eat, which happened on vacations (yes, we went on a vacation every year, it was the one thing my mom saved up for and I am grateful for it) only I had to split a sub with my mom or brother and order water only. Every year I was allowed one new shirt and one new pair of pants. When I was finally old enough to work full time and get out of the house, I made more then my mom and there was so much I wanted to do growing up and so many credit card offers that I kinda went nuts with it and learned the hard way. Now I realize you actually do have to manage money, not just spend it because you're happy to actually be able to do things for once.... or else your life will be fucked. I only hope I can do a better job managing money from now on and I believe I will.
i think money issues can stem from alot of different ways of being brought up whats wrong with the barter system though?
Thanks I generally try to communicate with as few words as possible, because the vast majority of posters on hipforums have such a short attention span Hotwater
short attention spans are what we in rt are best known for, just like the french have kissing and being wusies, the americans have arrogant gun toting fat asses, canadians are stupid, beer gussling hosers, and asians are all smart
Like I said even hipforums has a few remarkable exceptions to the rule (present company included) Hotwater
sweeeeet exceptions kick ass especially remarkable ones yeah and fuck money fuck money fuck money *sang in a snooty accent..but you couldn't hear it*
i love and hate capitalism. i love the opportunities, but i hate having to depend on paper money. i would rather grow my own food and barter with my neighbors. maybe one day i will do that.
barter would /could be much more effective if it had an "economy of scale". Ive got an apple tree , gives 300 apples a year and it costs me bugger all. when I left university the system put me on the dole even tho I could do a good job -posh uni , good degree etc- because giving people jobs was "bad for inflation figures". Money is all about control and brainwashing people. Its prob nothing to do quality of life , the way things are now. PS I handle money investment as my job!!
"Fuck money" I had to laugh, it made all sorts of ideas come to mind, lol I make good money but Im working toward making much less and doing things I more enjoy.
