Friday night was Gov't Mule and Robert Randolph & The Family Band. They played in a huge ampitheater full of hippies. My boyfriend and I stood up really close to the stage so that we could see. It was so packed. I honestly never realized how many hippies were in my area. Kind of makes me want to get out and meet some people. So, Robert Randolph opened the show with a pretty amazing bang. At that point I was starting to get comfortable and find my footing. It had been a long time since I went to a concert period! Maybe an hour after we were there everyone started to get relaxed and slowly the sweet smell of weed floated through the ampitheater. There were so many people smoking up and enjoying themselves. I hadn't even thought of bringing weed into the park but I was super happy when everyone asked me to join them. (My boyfriend wasn't too happy though!) After Robert Randolph we got an intermission to go pee or whatever. Yet again everyone was lighting up. The world was moving under our feet and we were celebrating fuckin life! Right before Gov't Mule came out the fireworks went off. We stood and watched them all the way though. I was wrapped up in my boyfriends arms and we focused on the sky. Gov't Mule came on that the world went crazy. I bought a twirly glow thing and played with it for a while during the beginning of the concert. My boyfriend got me on his shoulders and I spun that thing so hard. Unfortunately for me (but was fun to watch) a whole bunch of stoners got a hold of it and I never saw it again! I hope they enjoy it. The night was amazing. I totaly enjoyed myself. I was able to spend time with other free spirited lovers. It was great.

Sunday night we went to the GooGoo Dolls concert as well. They have always been one of my favorite bands. Ever since I was little I listened to them. I'm so excited because my boyfriend new the tour bus driver and he was able to get t-shirts signed for me. I wish I had of that of that Friday night because I would have gotten Gov't Mule to sign my t-shirt! It was amazing. Seeing Johnny up on that stage working his ass off made me so happy. I love that sexy beast! Rock on Goo Goo Dolls!

    PS
I met this girl named Jenny from Alabama on Friday night. I really would like to see her again, she was fun and let me get in on her stash. I was planning on asking her for her number or e-mail or something so we could talk if she was planning on coming back up here, but I lost her in the crowd and never found her again! If anyone knows her... let me know!

Glad you enjoyed your show. Now get your ass to a newgrass show ASAP. Try:
    String Cheese Incident
    Yonder Mountain String Band
    Drew Emmitt Band

...if possible you want to be at the All Good Festival. It's the #1 hippy festival world-wide this year.

    Roberts amazing, isn't he?
I'm not so much a mule fan. But I did see the Gov't Cheese run in the late 90s when Allen Woody was alive.
Some magic happened on that tour!
Allen was really lonely waiting for his wife and daughter to join the tour & kept wandering over to where I was working on a hoop and asking if I needed to somke out and I was welcome on the bus.
I looked up and said, huh, I'm too old to be a groupie, and I no longer smoke. Why don't you try a hoop?
    He did, poor soul.
Luckily a pack of mule heads showed up to entertain him.
